So, he won't be returning, despite theories/hopes.

Fans react.

Fear is now drawing criticism of becoming the flagship series’ “trash can for their least interesting characters,” wrote one Twitter user,

Another Twitter user argued against integrating Dwight into Fear in favor of having him return for unfinished business on the mothership series, as the back-to-back losses of Rick Grimes (Andrew Lincoln) and Maggie Rhee (Lauren Cohan) appears as though The Walking Dead is “getting rid of everybody we care about.”

We still can have hope that Morgan and co are the ones who truly fricked everything up in the flagship’s time jump.

Maybe, but that would be a series of flashback episodes. I think everything is being led to the movies.

Gimple is still in charge of the overall universe, so whatever happens, it's going to be pretty retarded.

It was a deeper dive than Heroes and that is saying something.

Killing off some of the best characters (not saying they were good, but best for this show) did not exactly work out well for them.

I want to see Daniel Salazar, Troy and Madison come back. Maybe Walker too in an uneasy alliance.

Not sure id be excited about Dwight on ftwd. Would rather see him come back on twd or in ricks movie

I dont watch TWD. Not a single episode. I generally dont like sci-fi/fantasy shows in which the plot/scenario doesnt allow for adequate personal hygene.

Sherry too?

I looked for that. I don't think so.
quote:

Another big difference between the two Walking Dead iterations is that Comic Sherry was still around after Negan was eventually defeated. Her relationship with Dwight was kaput, though, and it was hinted at that Sherry had previously chosen to become one of Negan's wives. She ended up rebelling against Rick, looking on as Dwight was almost murdered by one of her cohorts, and she soon died after making an attempt on Rick's life. (Her neck was broken on a table.)

On the flip side, the more virtuous TV Sherry made the choice to once again flee the Sanctuary to be away from Negan's grasp, but without burning any bridges with Dwight. She left a letter of explanation as his last beacon of hope for a better life, which gave him a reason to go look for her, leaving behind everyone who'd wished him dead in recent weeks and months. That's where things left off with Dwight, basically.

So comic Sherry is dead. I guess they could have TV Sherry come along, since Dwight's story can be anything they want it to be now, but if it's all leading to the movies, they might do a Rick/Dwight story from the comics. That's a big potential TV/movie spoiler, so I won't go there.

Dwight is definitely not fighting the Whisperers in Texas, though.

If Morgan didn’t arrive in the time jump, and since they announced Dwight will end up with Morgan...

The obvious answer is to have sherry show up in TWD, get connected to Daryl, and then let Dwight find out in the eventual crossover.

Bad story telling, but probably good character interactions.

Why can’t they use this as a surprise ever?

Why leak castings

I guess they need the viewers now, not later. IMO, they'll get the same ratings bump whichever way they do it, but may have to wait a week for people to hear about the switch via the show.

It's what they've done in the past. They must get better results this way.
