This is one of the best series I have seen in a long time, it keeps getting better each week and by the History Channel not one of the movie channels.

SPOILER IF YOU HAVEN'T WATCHED TONIGHT

I'm kinda torn by Rollo's decision at the end, give the ways of the Vikings I think he pussed out, but I can also see the need for what he decided to do.

The gods will know what Rollo did and they will be pleased.

He is a beast and he will live to fight another day. I fricking love this show. I am depressed every week when it is over.

him keeping Ragnar's wife and kids alive will get him back in his brother's good graces I am sure. that was a total dick move by the other king to attack a village full of women, children, and elderly.

I was screaming at the TV when the boats were within archer's reach for them to start shooting the flaming arrows but nooo lets wait til they land :(

The Vikings fighting style is awesome.

Still. I would imagine more fighters going on raids?

Am I wrong or would they fight with 30 men?

The Vikings normally raided in much longer boats that held more than 50 each.

The raid on France (845) and Paris is said to be close to 120 boats and close to 5000 men.

The main weapons of the Vikings is spear/shield and bow, the axe and sword are close in weapons once the shield wall is broken.

The Vikings also used Berserkers, men armed with a great axe (two handed) or 2 axes, that went into battle with no armor or very little. The Berserkers were used to brake shield walls.

One Viking held a bridge for hours using a 2 handed axe and was only killed when a spearmen killed him from under the bridge at The Battle of Stamford Bridge in 1066, which was late in the Viking Age and the beginning of the Norman age.

The Oracle is creepy and the way they lick his hand freaks me out.

ETA: The crucifixion of the priest looked rather painful

Yeah the crucifixion was nuts.

Donts think he would survive rusty nails in him like that without antibiotics.

Still hope he chooses Lagertha. Princess is going to make his sons pansies. They need a shield maiden step mom to whip their asses. Great episode, happy priest lived. Ready for the throw down next week

Didn't think they were gonna do the blood eagle and I really didn't expect Ragnar to be the one preforming it. But I'm glad they did made for a very effective scene with Ragnar looking everyone in the eye while he did sending everyone the very clear message, don't cross Ragnar.

Unfortunately it looks like Floki is gonna take over the Rollo role of betrayer this season. Though maybe not Vikings has gotten better at making you think one way then doing the opposite.
