Not sure if I should be excited about this or dreading it. I wasn't a huge fan of Tron: Legacy (although it's grown on me after multiple rewatches), but the original helped set the course of my professional life by helping develop my fascination with computers.

Should be interesting one way or another...

Couldn’t find an actor less appealing. I think Hollywood and the general public have a yuge disconnect on that guy. Kudos to his agent.

Totally agree with you, Socrates. Not sure whose decision this was, but doesn't really seem like a good fit.

Didn’t we already have a Tron reboot?

I liked the other Tron reboot. What was wrong with Garrett Hedlund?

If any genre has the right to multiple reboots, it's the computer adventure genre.

Tron Trivia: The original Tron did not receive an Oscar nomination for special effects, because the Academy at the time felt that using computers to create the majority of the effects was "cheating".

That was more like a direct Sequel

I actually thought Garrett Hedlund did a good job in Legacy, stout. My issue was more what they did with The Grid. Even though it looked amazing, it was just too over-the-top for me. I also thought they made Jeff Bridges a little bit too much like The Dude.

Before he won his Oscar, Leto's best and most effective performances were small supporting roles in really good films (Fight Club, American Psycho, Lord of War). Even in Dallas Buyers Club, Leto only had 20 minutes of screen time. Leto is good in increments but he's not a guy you want as a primary protagonist or antagonist filling up the screen.

I need to rewatch it to remember the details. It's been a while.

Just watched the original for the first time last night. It wasn't great.

Yeah it doesn't really stand the test of time all that great. But seeing it in the theater as an 8 or 9-year old when it came out was flat-out amazing.

Would be better to bring back Tron Uprising.

Big big fan of Tron Legacy. I loved it. I've been hoping for another one for years.

Yeah it's grown on me over time. I was pretty stoked to see how the story played out with Quorra in the real world and Sam having The Grid backed up on his thumbdrive. I was sad when it got cancelled so this news pricked my ears up until I read more about it.

I agree that Disney should resurrect Uprising. I really enjoyed that show.

Not sure another remake is needed, but leave it to Disney to abandon original ideas and squeeze every property for all its worth.
