If they were swapped out in their movie would it make a difference??

Yes, Cruise is a much, much better actor.

I feel like Charlie could be replaced with Tom in more movies than Tom with Charlie but Tom is the better actor.

Put Tom in Wall Street
And
Put Charlie in cocktail

Don't think the ladies would like it very much. A Charlie Sheen cut of Interview with a Vampire would be pretty hilarious though.

The Arrival would be way more talked about today with Tom Cruise as lead.

Yes, Charlie would've banged the Samurai widow before going to the final battle in The last Samurai

They did switch. Top Gun became Hot Shots.

Charlie Sheen and Tom Cruise are both crazy.
But Cruise is an infinitely better actor. Even comedic. I don’t think Sheen could have pulled off Tropic Thunder.

I laughed out loud at the thought
Tom Cruise is a much better actor, and likable despite his Scientology shite
ETA: Tom Cruise in Wall Street would have been great.

Tom Cruise may be the better actor of the two, but he never could have pulled off the baseball movies Sheen did. 8 men out and major league. I actually believe Sheen as a ball player. I don’t see it in Cruise.

That’s because he was a ball player. I think he was something like 40-15 as a high school pitcher. He was also a very good shortstop.

He also juiced up big time for Major League. He said he was throwing hundreds of pitches every day and the director kept wanting more and more and more until he literally hit dead arm.
I think he called in some of his late 80s MLB contacts and got back on the horse. He also juiced up big time for Hot Shots 2.
I remember him saying once that the shots of him throwing "96" in Major league were actually in about the low 80s. Still pretty damn impressive for an actor. He was legit ballplayer.
Redford also played college baseball. It's why he moved and swung and threw like a real player.
