I'm 4 episodes in and really liking it. How many episodes will there be?
Funny thing is my 3 year old girl loves the show and cannot get enough...so strange

I haven't started yet because I absolutely loathe the CW DC universe. How is the tone and environment of this non CW show compared to those? Also, I loved Gotham, so that should give you an idea of where I stand in terms of preference.

It more like current DC movies imo, much darker, anything goes, and I really like the writing. It feels like a long running show on a better budget than the TV shows. More Gotham than Arrow, but much more supernatural than both. Admittedly I'm just 4 episodes in but I haven't disliked anything yet

It’s better written, less corny, and less of a soap opera than the CW shows. As heavy as Gotham but in a more realistic setting. The drawback is that it noticeably amps up the violence. It also struggles in the first episode to juggle the four character arcs. After that the episodes are more singularly focused until they become a team. Not as realistic as Marvel Netflix, but then it’s starts off with supernatural themes from the start.
What the series has in its favor is that it begins in an active DCU. Batman, Robin, Hawk, Dove... all active superheroes. So you’re not dealing with a world that is shocked by the existence of supers. And with multiple leads you don’t have a lot of time for drawn out relationships. Gar meets Raven and they’re instant friends. Dick and Kori get busy quickly. You’re not waiting a season to see Barry go on a date with Iris.

Is there a free preview or anything? I want to watch this but, I dont want to pay multiple months just for this.

I'm not sure that I've ever read a better post or article that captures the essence of a show without giving away key details or spoilers. I'm sold, and thank you for taking the time to respond.

Bit of a lull of an episode this week. I’m not a fan of the “hero faces his darkest inner fears” episodes.
Donna Troy is next week and the preview has it looking like we’ll be back on track with superheroics.

Yeah my least favorite episode of the season and this episode seemed really short too. I thought what kind of Game of Thrones shite is this when it went to credits after what seemed like 39 min.

Not a ton of action in this week's episode, but the interaction and conversations between Dick and Donna just kick you in the feels. This series has been all about characters that are damaged goods and Donna comes along and she is a fricking rock.
Dick having multiple superhero and sidekick friends from his past is a huge plus for this series.
The previews for next week's "Hank and Dawn" episode have it looking like it'll be 100% Hawk & Dove, with which I have no problem.

There is a 10-day free trial of DC universe.
You can watch all of them right now and in 9 days cancel an it costs you nothing.
LINK
Sign up and when you get to the sign up it'll offer you the 10 day trial. You have to put a CC in but you can cancel up until the charge date with no charge. I kept mine because I am super impressed with the mobile comic reader and all the animated series that are there.

Anyone wondering about this show, this post is on the money.

I've been impressed. This is definitely higher quality than what the CW is putting out. I still can't imagine paying for DC, but if AT&T is really going to create a streaming service around Time Warner content then DC could be a cornerstone of that if the quality of other shows is as good.

If only Warner Brothers realizes Dick Grayson is the best part of DC.
I mean he’s the original Robin, a trope unto himself, then Nightwing-a medium busting twist on a character.
Now I don’t like how dark and violent he is, that’s not Grayson, but hopefully he lightens with time.

What I don't understand is Kori's "mission".
I thought the character of Koriand'r was a refugee because her sister staged a coup and removed her from power.

They’ve made changes to everyone’s origin stories, with the exceptions of Dick and Donna.

They didn't change Raven's. She's still the daughter of Trigon.

In the comics she wasn't raised on Earth by a foster mother. She was raised in another dimension.

The "Hank and Dawn" episode was good. Nice that they can break in for an origin episode like this. The Hawk actor does a great job. Looks like everyone will be in the mix for the final two episodes.

Solid episode. You say origin I’d say more filler. I can’t not see Thad Castle when looking at Hank... haha
