This gif sums up Alien: Covenant

First part of this gif is A:C up until the lander is blown up and the aliens attack in the tall grass
Second part of this gif is everything else
The tension and build-up with the spores, quarantine room, and tall grass fight was so good, and then it just spiraled downhill. Sad!

The most horrifying scene was when David turned off other David. The way he collapsed was pretty freaky.

i thought it had a cool concept and went way off the rails

Damn, I was just watching this last night and fell asleep at the part where David is showing Walter to play the recorder. I was thinking to myself that it was pretty good up until that point. I'll finish it tonight hopefully.

The only scene that really got my attention was the back buster. That little neomorph was fierce. The parts in David's sanctum and their escape were okay but the last third of the movie back on the Covenant was so generic and boring. And now I hear Fox may not even continue the Prometheus/ Covenant story line.

Covenant should have been about the Engineers and maybe an impending war with them.
Instead, we got a lecture in creation and how bad it can be.
Would it be too much to ask for to have the same epicness that was Aliens? It's clear we cannot recreate the masterpiece known as Alien.

Watched it last night, I feel like Ridley Scott is just trying to cram in every xenomorph conceptual art by Geiger into these movies.

The ideas for the next installment sounded interesting as there was to be a clash between David w his horde of Aliens, the Engineers and a human force sent to deal with the situation. I would hope they would at least wrap up this story arc and bring us back to the derelict on LV 426.

That's something worth making. We still (outside of book canon) have not seen on film how the queen alien emerges.
