The West Wing- first viewing

For whatever reason I've never got around to watching The West Wing. Heard good things about it in the past but didn't know much otherwise.
I just started season 1 and I'm about 5-6 episodes in. So far I'm blown away, especially considering how weak most shows pilot/ first few episodes are. The pace, acting, and dialogue are all great. So much better than 95% of the current content.
My only concern is how much better does it get? Seems like the lack of an over arching plot could get a little boring. So far each episode basically stands on it's own for the most part.
Is it worth a binge watch?

It achieves moments of pure brilliance and builds steadily through season 4. Season 5=7 are a bit of a fall-off IMO- but when you're done you might be ready to go again... I know I was. I've watched the entire series about 5 times for what it's worth. There are certain shows that I can watch multiple times and discover a new layer or discovery upon each further viewing and this just about tops the list.

Seasons 1-4 are some of the best TV ever made.
Seasons 5-6 falls off a bit.
Season 7 is great and picks back up to finish.
Great show.

I could see wanting to watch it again as I've already missed some stuff because it moves so fast. And while possibly brilliant, yet extremely frustrating, the show starts out full speed and I spent several episodes trying to figure who everyone was.

I've watched the series about 12-13 times, it's my favorite tv show. Seasons 1-4 are amazing and season 2 is the GOAT, the finale of that season is one of the finest hours of television ever filmed. Season 5 is the weakest season but still better than most things on tv. Season 6 is much better than season 5 and the final season is back to 1-4 levels IMO

Definitely worth binge watching. There are several stretches where the build on certain plots and character developments. On my initial viewing it took me some time to get adjusted to the pace, specifically the dialogue.

I'm on the backhalf of season 2 and it ebbs and flows, but I just watched one of the most powerful episodes of any tv series ever.
It is a very consistently awesome show that typically leaves you feeling good or at the edge of your seat at the end of every episode. Just fantastic television.
