The rewatch value of Fox & Sony's MCU is superior to Disney's MCU

Hot take flying in. I'm over on Disney+ and would rather rewatch the legacy MCU over the Disney MCU
X-Men, X2, First Class, Days of Future Past, Logan
Spider-Man 1 & 2, Into the Spider-Verse
Deadpool 1 & 2
Daredevil & The Punisher TV Series
All of those are pretty great The duds of legacy MCU are worse than most of the worst Disney MCU films (at least up until this current Marvel Phase 4 run) but the legacy MCU peaked better

Let’s take a look at the top 10 of Sony/Fox:
10. X-Men
9. Spider Man
8. X-Men First Class
7. X-2
6. Into the Spiderverse
5. Days of Future Pas
4. Deadpool 2
3. Spiderman 2
2. Logan
1. Deadpool
Now, let’s look at Marvel’s Top 10:
10. End Game
9. Guardians 2
8. Far From Home
7. The Avengers
6. Guardians 1
5. Infinity War
4. Winter Soldier
3. No Way Home
2. Iron Man
1. Thor Ragnarok
Alright, would I rather watch X-Men or End Game? 9/10 I’d rather endgame.
Toby Spiderman or Guardians 2? Probably Guardians 2, but it’s close.
First Class or Far From Home? Definitely Far From Home.
X-2 or The Avengers? I might occasionally prefer X-2, but probably rather Avengers most of the time.
Into the Spiderverse or Guardians of the Galaxy? This is really tough, but my gut says Guardians by a hair.
Days of Future Past or Infinity War? TBH, I think I’d rather watch Days of Future Past.
Deadpool 2 or Winter Soldier? Tough, like choosing between two children, but I’m going Winter Soldier. Movie is straight badass, but I do love Deadpool as well.
No Way Home or Spiderman 2? I’m going No Way Home, but that might just be recency bias. Spiderman 2 is a straight classic.
Iron Man or Logan? Logan is clearly the better film, but Iron Man is much more fun and rewatchable for me.
Thor Ragnarok or deadpool? This is the hardest matchup to pick. I love these movies so much. I’m going Deadpool, but not by much.
Summary: Marvel 7-3 Sony/FOX
Also, I loved Loki, Wanda/Vision, and Hawkeye, so I think the top end Marvel shows really do match up favorably.
I think Marvel is in a creative slump right now, but a big part of that is just how much content they put out. They still make a lot of fantastic releases, but they also have more than a few mediocre movies. I think the top end of marvel can go head to head with any other franchise outside of the big 3 (Star Wars, Indiana Jones, and Lord of the Rings).

Disney has been on a bit of a crappy run since Endgame but this statement is completely ridiculous

It's a weird statement. Disney's peak was better in the sense it actually built to one universe. I just think the films at the top of legacy MCU are better than the top films of the Disney peak

Tom,
You leaving out A LOT of crap on the Sony/Fox side (while also not mentioning that youre comparing 2 different production companies vs 1, I mean are you willing to take Sony or Fox 1v1 on Disney?
X3,
Fantastic 4 1
Fantastic 4 2
Fantastic 4 reboot
Wolverine origin
Wolverine 2
Amazing Spider-man
Amazing Spider-man 2
Luke Cage
Iron Fist
Yeah Disney got some bombs too (Thor 2 we looking at you) but IMO they got similar peaks but the valleys aren’t even close.

I agree, the bad from Fox/Sony is all time bad.
What are the comparable films in importance/tone to the Marvel universe?
X-Men vs The Avengers
X2 vs Captain America Civil War
Spider-Man vs Iron-Man
Spider-Man 2 vs No Way Hone
First Class is to Infinity War
Days of Future Past is to Endgame
After that..??
Deadpool vs Guardians of the Galaxy 2
Deadpool 2 vs Thor: Ragnarok
Logan vs The Winter Soldier
Into the Spider-Verse vs Black Panther

Fox and Sony crawled so that MCU could walk

I dislike what Disney has done to the MCU, but this is a terrible take. The MCU gave us actual comic books on screen and did so without having to ground it in reality while making it feel authentic is not campy. Yes Disney took it over and eventually turned it into a formulaic mess of redundant experiences and silly one liners, but the overall product of MCU is far superior to Fox/Sony

GOATS that will never be realized again unfortunately

Different strokes for different folks. I like cheesey, goofy, action comedies and Thor Ragnarok is one of the best of that genre from the 2010’s. Since the Jump Street movies aren’t in the MCU…yet, they don’t count.

good when viewed from the perspective of when they came out but don't think these aged well. Especially #1

I'm with you on this one.
Capt. America: 1st Avenger is my MCU go-to rewatch. Iron Man is 2nd.
I watched Days of Future Past again last night, just because it was on. I flip past every MCU rerun, maybe stay on Guardians for a while for some laughs.
Not that FOX/Sony is better head to head against the MCU, but they've got the rewatch trophy.
And whoever put a #1 in front of Ragnorak... It's the best Thor movie, but that's about it.
