Nah. My DVR had it marked as a new one but it was a repeat of the first episode of season 2

Yep. New episode tonight. This season has been weak, though. I usually watch this live and B99 on DVR, but I’m going to switch it up tonight, I think.

Deep topic for last night's episode. The blending of two different cultures is a heavy stuff.

I was disappointed Bortus didn't have his mustache. That was some funny stuff

I don't think the alliance with the Moclans is going to survive this season.

Waaaaaaaay too much tension and conflict.

I'd still like to know the deal about the torpedo during the test. That's not a mistake that casually happens.

Will be interesting to see what Bortus does (and Klyden) when it happens.

Are the Moclans supposed to be gay Klingons?

Essentially.

And being straight is deviance.

Agreed with all of this

Great episode.

Pretty sure this will be the final straw with Bortus and Klyden. Bortus obviously still had serious feelings for Lokar.

A split of the alliance would probably mean a split for them as well, with Klyden returning to Moclus and Bortus staying on the Orville.

That torpedo incident could lead to the conflict.

Would be interesting to see where Topa would go.

Loving this show

I like Discovery but the Klingons are cringe worthy.

Galaxy Quest is what it looked like but not what it was. It’s basically a Star Trek series in spirit with about 20% more humor built in.
I haven't watched most recent episode yet, but I've watched all others.

I kinda see where MacFarlane is going with this, but IMO it's a struggle narrative instead of a fluid narrative. IE, lots of awkwardness in the delivery. I'm a sci-fi fan and generally a MacFarlane fan overall - creative wise.

Galaxy Quest is a gem. If he can put it together, you got a great show. It needs to get there though.

The Orville has a lot if its inspiration from TNG, but with a a healthy dose of goofy puns, sexual innuendo and off color humor. It is very "hopeful" Sci-fi (as opposed to the dystopian shite that pervades the genre these days), but it can be serious as well (as this week's episode demonstrated).

They do take on social issues like TOS did, but McFarlane usually does a good job fighting his left impulses to provide a pretty "down the middle" presentation.

Yeah. Kudos to the Orville for playing the long arc with that one. We’ve seen this plot before, but they executed it very well. Good turn for this season, which has been a little too relationship-focused.
