The Office Podcast - The Office Ladies
Posted by SmackDaniels on 1/22/20 at 10:27 pm80
Anyone listen to this yet? Man, I want to like this so much but find myself having to rewind because I can't pay attention to these two. It's not at all what I would have hoped it would have been.
They are not good at this at all.

Yeah I had high hopes but it became a chore to listen to

Exactly. Glad I'm not the only one who felt that way

There are moments of solid insight worth listening for.... although as you said there’s a lot of skippable content.
Not giving up on it yet - they are brand new to the pod game and there’s time to improve.

When they stick to “fast facts” and “notecard” info it’s interesting but I don’t want to hear them talk about their day or friendship. Fans want to hear about the show not Angela’s husbands cookbook. Hopefully they keep getting people to join like Rainn, Creed, and Paul feig.

It has its moments, but they definitely need to dial down the banter/cackling when they go off topic. Sounds really forced at times.

I can’t stand Jenna Fischer. I hated Pam so much that it ruined her for me in every other show, movie or in this case, podcast.

Why do people have to bastardize the office

Yeah. I'm a huge Office fan, still listen to the pod, but I get so angry at the mindless banter that seems to plague each episode. As one other person put it, it's a chore and just barely more enjoyable than it is aggravating.

This. There is way to much of this.

It feels like 10 minutes of commentary about the show, and 45 minutes of random unrelated banter.

Pretty much agree with everyone here. Creed was great on the episode when they discussed Halloween, though. He even threw them some shade about the same stuff we are complaining about here.
Jenna: “Ok, fast fact... this episode is... the... first time we see PAM’S HAIR DOWN!”
Creed: “wow, that is important.”
You could tell it may have been the first time they became a little self aware of how dumb they sounded.

OK. Glad we are all on the same page here. I've been wanting to like it so much but I kept thinking, this could be so much better.

Agreed, so glad to hear you guys say what I’ve been thinking. They seem really dumb and vapid. Kills some of The Office magic for me

I’m enjoying it
I listen to this gumpy nasally voiced Alabama dude Conrad Thompson’s podcasts that talks about wrestling and the people who were behind the scenes there, and this way more goes in depth in this field than Conrad and his guests do.

Funny you mention that, I was thinking they actually need someone like Conrad to steer the conversation and keep them from going off on those tangents unrelated to the show that they keep doing.

It’s really not much different. If fact they may stay more on-topic. Dude will ask Bischoff something like - “why did you let Scott Steiner win the title there” and Bischoff will talk for 11 straight minutes, making sure three times people don’t take something he said as offensive, before never really answering the question, rather, telling you why Steiner wore gold-rimmed sunglasses

The ep with Creed was indeed great.
Rest is super meh. Also very self masturbatory.
