So last night after all of the games, etc. the entire family and all of the kids watched The New Lion King.

Now I have’t watched the original for 10+ years.

I thought it was phenomenal. It’s pretty much an exact replica of the original with amazing graphics. Everything looked so real, the music was awesome.

I just don’t understand why all they negative reviews about this movie.

You kind of know what you are getting yourself into but I thought they did a phenomenal job with this movie.

I hate Beyonce so there is that. I thought the music really lacked overall compared to the cartoon.

The animation was pretty incredible though, that part you are right about.

I agree and on a related note I really enjoyed Aladdin the other day as well. Specifically loved will smith as the genie.

Is there a time frame on when either of those will be on Disney+?

Uh they completely fricked my dude scar and his number 1 hit piece, and the best song in the movie, be prepared.

Music lacked. The animation was amazing but I feel like it was a little to National Geographic. I think they could have “cartooned” it a bit and had a better product.

Overall I enjoyed. But not like the original.

Aladdin was stellar though.

They did screw over scar (should have been Clancy Brown) but Be Prepared is not the best song in that movie.

They really fricked up the Remember scene. That’s the money scene in the movie, where Simba says frick all of this loading around getting fat on bugs and grass, I was born a king, I’m going to either be King or die trying.

It just fell so flat.

I will fight you. Be prepared is absolutely the best song in the movie and a top 5 Disney song of all time.

All of this.

Beyoncé's rendition of Can You feel the Love tonight was a train wreck.

Yeah the whole set up to where Simba remembers his father and the monkey reminding him of who he really is was fricked up.

I liked Aladdin and hated this.

Aladdin has a unique twist on the story.

The Lion King felt flat. In part because the animals aren’t anthropomorphic enough for us to connect to them. The animals are unable to even show emotion on their faces.

Also, the music does take quite a hit to limitations.

They should not have replaced Jeremy Irons as Scar. Nobody can touch that performance.

Jafar looked like a mad Falafel cart owner in Aladdin. That Yes Kween ending was booty.

I’d make 8 Christian babies with Naomi Scott though.

Yea they went the contemporary route. The CGI was state of the art. The voices were try hard - they would have been better off dubbing the original voices and syncing with live action.

I didn't like that they cut the "Scar, brother, help me." line from the new one. The "brother" drives home the whole point that Mufasa's own flesh and blood killed him.

personally, I loved the movie. I would definite watch it again. It is not the original and does have its negative aspects, but still a fun watch

The cgi at the beginning is unbelievable. It declined steadily as the movie played. It was distracting to me. The voices didn't have much feeling to them to me either.
