I didn't think JG Jr. could carry the role, but he's looking better than expected.

He's got the look that is for sure but jury is still out on whether he can act. Didn't see enough.

he looked exactly like Tony when he spoke to Dickie about college. He did well in the Duece imo. Also, pretty sure that was Holsten's Diner he was standing at the door of the in the trailer. Gonna be good. Some are speculating that Liotta is Dickie's father and not Old man Dimeo and that the main black dude who is shooting at people is the guy from the Hud episode but idk seems like a stretch. Either way super hyped. October 1st can't get here fast enough.

Looks and sounds like his dad. They even have him walking like his dad with his slouch.

I thought it was Falco in the trailer but just looked at it again and it's definitely Farminga.

Farminga is a good choice for young Livia.

Wonder who plays Carmella eventually. Supposedly her and Tony met in high school in the late 1960s. So that character might be in here along with Artie.

She's Dickie's first cousin, so she has to be around. I am looking forward to seeing Charmaine and their falling out.

I’m usually not an arse about stuff like this but like five different people have called her “Farminga”. It’s Vera Farmiga…no N

I figure Liotta is a boss, be it a DiMeo or maybe a New York boss.

Unlike goodfellas, he won’t play a rat.

He’s DiMeo….has to be. Destined for being a “guest of the government” before Aprille takes over for him.

Would’ve been mid-70s (Tony was born in 1959)

I read that Michael Imperiolli or someone was saying on the podcast that he is Dickie Molatasanti's father and not Dimeo. However, I don't have a link. I was thinking he was gonna be Dimeo as well but idk.

ETA: The kid who calls Tony a jerkoff at the payphone and gives a very "Silvio" type shrug looks like it might be a young Silvio. (also looks like the same guy with Tony in the Mr. Softie truck later in the trailer). Wonder if we'll get to see John Gotti ringing that bell the whole way home. Then when Tony pushes him against the window a young blonde haired girl runs up to break it up (my guess is a young Carmella).

I haven't done a rewatch of The Sopranos since I watched it every week in the original run. Looks like I have to watch a whole bunch of eps before Oct 1

I agree, a series is what made it special. Originally, I think the Sopranos was envisioned as a movie, thank God it wasn't. I'm not sure the dark comedy and depth of the show (or what people want to see) will be captured in a two hour film. I'll watch (and like it) regardless I'm sure.

Hopefully it’s a big 4 hour

Why go through all the trouble of casting and post dated sets for just 1 two hour movie

I think 4 hours here would definitely be more fitting than the Irishman (and I liked that one). Youtube recommended some video after I watched the trailer a few times over a day or two and it was some reporter who tracked down the young Gandolfini kid and was asking him about it, he asked how long it was and Gandolfini said he thought "around 2 hours."

However, I got the feeling he was just telling the guy stuff to try to get away from him because he was walking through NYC with a backpack on obviously going somewhere.
