I have been vaguely interested in where this goes since they named Favreau, and now production starts next week with an estimated production value of $100 million for ten episodes.

quote:

The live-action show is rumored to be about Mandalorians after the fall of the Empire and the series will involve familiar locations to Star Wars fans like Mandalore and Tatooine. The story will take place around 3 years after Return of the Jedi.

Diving into the Mandalorians will be awesome IMO. I really like where this is going.

Is the whole thing CGI? I haven't heard anything related to casting for this.

They can't do worse than what EA did to Bioware.

Zapp, in this current Hollywood, they are more than likely to tell EA to hold their beer.

Damn that’s pretty cool. I was hoping it would focus on some Jedi like an old republic type thing, but a space western could be badass.

Main character is a female minority that got sexually assaulted by Han Solo 36 parsecs ago, and now she is trying to make sure he doesn't end up in the New Repblic Space Supreme Court.

With news of the A4 trailer potentially dropping tomorrow, just saw this power team assembled on the set of The Mandalorian- Favreau, the Russos, and Taika Waititi. I would be estatic if the Russos come over to direct a few episodes. Actually, I would be happy if they came over and directed a couple SW films, potentially even unsinking that Star Wars ship that was sank by a Disney Iceberg.

I'm starting to wonder if Favreau isn't trying to start up a new direction for SW by bringing in the power players who influenced the MCU the most.

If Disney's plan for these SW-centered series actually takes off and does well, I could definitely see some of the big names like the Russos come in and make some films to supplement the series. God, I would love to see a KOTOR series, with say the Russos coming in and directing a feature film that culminates on the series much like IW and A4 have/will do for the entire MCU.

Cast is announced:

quote:

Pedro Pascal, who was previously confirmed to be the lead in the series, will be in the role of the Mandalorian gunfighter. Joining him will be Gina Carano from Deadpool, Giancarlo Esposito from Breaking Bad, Emily Swallow from Supernatural, Carl Weathers from Predator, Omid Abtahi from American Gods, Werner Herzog from Grizzly Man, and Nick Nolte from Affliction, who was previously announced.

The Mandalorian was written and executive produced by Favreau, with Dave Filoni directing the first episode. Filoni, Kathleen Kennedy, and Colin Wilson, will also serve as executive producers, with Karen Gilchrist on as a co-executive producer.

Jessica Jones' Deborah Chow, Thor: Ragnarok's Taika Waititi, and Dope's Rick Famuyiwa will also be directing episodes, along with Solemates' Bryce Dallas Howard.

Very excited to see Filoni involved in this. The creator of Clone Wars and Rebels needs to have a hand in anything SW that Disney produces.

This show has potential to be better than any of the post-Lucas feature films.

Kevin Smith visited the set and left in tears.

All bull shite aside, I'm looking forward to this series almost as much as Clone Wars Saved.
