Ever on RT. And it’s the second lowest rated episode by fans.

Bottom line is that Gendry was the only one that saw Arya coming.

The butthurt about this episode is unreal. I can only imagine if this board was around when attack of the Clones came out.

Well, when you put out a pretty terrible ending to one of the major focal points of an 8 season show, this is what you get.

I was totally fine with Arya killing the NK. Shes been my favorite character since I started reading the books in the 90s. But having Jon cowering behind a wall, the Azor Ahai prophecy being meaningless, and the White Walkers ending up as just mute generic bad guys was crappy and boring.

Largely a function of their fan theories not being correct as evidenced by those complaining the most on this board

Should I be shocked that the biggest episode with the most hype got the worst reviews? That's just people in a nutshell.

Yes by critics. Audience score is entirely separate.

The butthurt isn't about the episode ... They can now see the writing on the wall for the ending of the show, and it doesn't fit the mold of any of the conspiracies, twists, surprises that have filled Reddit, Youtube, etc. for 8 season

Azor Ahai prophecy being meaningless
It was fulfilled

It never said Azor defeated the main others guy in single combat.

In terms of the story, it is accurate to say that Jon Defeated the dead.

His diligence, persistence, and stubborness is the only reason anyone knew or cared about the dead south of the wall.

He won back Winterfell. He went out seeking allies. He raised the army.

Jon is the reason the dead are defeated. Arya killed the NK.

Had Jon not been there, not done what he had done, the dead would have overrun Winterfell before Arya even knew they existed

And we choose which one we prefer based on whichever suits what we think.

Right?

Is this even a thing in the show? With the 2 years off in between seasons, I have started getting stuff from the books and the show confused

Or it could just be that the episode came nowhere close to living up to the hype that the show runners themselves put out there, and the actual ending of the NK was kinda dumb.
