I'm two episodes into this true crime documentary and it's rather disturbing (But not surprising in the least bit). I didn't see any threads following this series like the "Making a Murder" documentary. Anyone else watching?

Girlfriend and I finished it earlier this week.

While compelling, I'm inclined to not jump to any conclusions based off of just the documentary, especially following how one-sided 'Making a Murderer' was.

Guy I work with told me about this series the other day. I haven't gotten around to watching though. Said it blows Making a Murderer out of the water.

4 episodes in. It's interesting, but like the poster above, I'm not jumping to any conclusions on the ultimate question. Definitely some messed-up stuff going on there, though. I don't watch a lot of TV, but this has my attention. It's also well-directed and well put together.

Nope x 1000

The Keepers turns to crap after 3 episodes. It's just pure speculation and opinions, no real evidence of anything. The only evidence they have is a few crazy old bags who also claim to not remember half the story.

ETA: should be called The Poopers

I'll say they could have probably cut it down to 3 episodes...it had a lot of filler, it repeated itself a ton, and it pretty much ended low key.

I'm thinking its painting a picture of Archdiocese of Baltimores power during that time period. Again, this story hit before the situation in Boston.

Granted I'm only four episodes in.

it's not bad, and we watched the series in about a span of 3-4 days. it's in no way close to being as compelling as making a murderer though.

previous thread

the fact that the original thread only made it 2 pages pretty much sums up the meh reaction.

i think the only time that my wife and i were compelled to go from watching one episode straight into watching the next episode was when they ended episode 5 (or 6?) with the bigfoot footage of edgar.

It doesn't. There was so much buzz when Making a Murderer came out. This one isn't on the same level, but it's interesting.

I just finished it and it's exactly why I stopped going to church ... the whole catholic religion needs to be wiped off the face of the earth... or they need to allow priests to marry because it's basically a career path that draws in the sickest people on earth. I mean you have to have serious issues to say to yourself you will ignore all of your human instincts and never have sex again

Making a Murderer was also a national story before the documentary.

Personally, I think some people shy away from watching this because it has to do with the Catholic Church (similar to the reception that Spotlight received before winning an Oscar).

It's exactly why people don't want to watch it or talk about which is sad

Which conclusions do you feel you are being asked to jump to by the series? Certainly you believe some of these guys in the Baltimore diocese were predators and their predation was covered up by the church, right?

Spoilers maybe.

The series ran out of steam at the end. It was compelling in parts but felt there was too many times they highlighted something to make it seem important to the story and then nothing happened with it.

Like the old cop dude in the beginning, brother bob, the passing connection between the second murdered girl and Maskell.
