More specifically the 100 year war that took place before Aang was awoken.

There's so much they could cover here. Starting with the Air Nomad genocide to what causes Ozai to go mad and of course Iroh, his son, and his failure at Ba Sing Se. Would also be cool to see how the world initially reacted to there being no Avatar.

I’d rather they move onto like a Cold War or Future Avatar series. The initial concept for the original series was that Aang was frozen for 1000 years instead of 100, Momo would be a robot, and Appa would have been Naga (which they used for Korra), but I’d like for some spin-off miniseries dealing with what you are talking about.

We kind of know this already though. Ozai was probably a mistake child that Azulon despised. He was merely a more sociopathic version of his father that hated being the younger sibling (hence his favorability to Azula). Iroh if given the throne would have ended the Hundred Year War.

I think Avatar covered its tracks well for the generations from Kuruk to when Aang was unfrozen. If they go before those Avatars, that’s cool. I think maybe taking some inspiration from say the Wind Waker and pirate tales that they could make a great short series without the Avatar present they could make a good pirate story on the other side of the Avatar world that is merely scattered islands.

They’ve discovered Spirit Energy, which is effectively this in the Avatar Universe

Making a live action version for Netflix, with the original creators as the writers and showrunners.

Wrong show mate

And to OML, I think they’ve tapped out all they could get out of their original vision. I guess doing a futuristic Avatar could be cool but where the frick is all that water and earth going to come from in a futuristic setting?

Idk. Seems like they should do the live action and then let it go and move on

What about an Avatar sequel series? Or an Avatar live-action remake?

I can think of a few other things they can do with the franchise. I certainly think you can bring Zaheer and the Red Lotus back in the sequel series that have a different goal. And Zaheer would be dead, but Iroh is dead and he came back. I think you can take the Spirit World further than they have, and give us a full fledged Spirit antagonist that could be better than Vaatu. They teased a Cold War Avatar in the last season, but they didn’t go all out on it.

And there’s plenty of creative things I can think of in a Future Avatar world, especially if you’d mix in Spirit Energy and AI. Maybe give the Avatar an antagonist that’s a mix between Ultron and Khan.

I’d like for them to complete the Cycle, and with it being on Netflix now, it’s a real possibility.

Why would either of those elements go anywhere? Maybe there would be floating cities where Earth may a bit of an issue, but I don’t see why with the other three.
