I really wish JJ would've done all 3.

Yes, TFA shared an absolute ton of stuff with ANH, but it did a good job of setting up the new era, new cast, and new characters with a familiar backbone.

Then TLJ just shite all over what was being set up just for the sake of a douche named Rian trying to be m night shyamalan on steroids. Subvert and twist!!

JJ would've done a way better job with considerably less "yeah girl power!"

They are trying to win back the hardcore SW fans.

The ones that were so disgusted they refused to see Solo, and they are hoping to win them back with a "Yeah, we admit TLJ was garbage. . .we are gonna fix it"

Unfortunately for the cast and crew. . .many of us read the spoilers. . .this movie will be about as bad.

They’ve lost me, probably for good. I’ve been a SW fan since I can remember. It defined my childhood. I thought TFA was decent, and after seeing the trailer for TLJ, I was suuuuuuper stoked (read it in your best Noho Hank voice for full effect). I don’t know if I’ve ever been as disappointed in a theater as I was while watching that fricking movie. It isn’t just that it’s bad. shite, my SW fandom survived all three prequels intact. I can deal with bad movies. But there is nothing on earth I hate like being preached at by some fricking gomer. I motherfricking loathe the “I’m going to shoehorn the way I think the world ought to be into this movie to try and teach you unwashed philistines to be as tolerant and open-minded as I am” approach to pop culture that Disney in particular loves to employ. The fact that they think it’s ok to use beloved cultural icons to shamelessly promote a political agenda should be concerning to everyone, even those who agree with the agenda they’re trying to push - for now, at least. frick them, frick Ryan Johnson (I’m not spelling it the other way just cause his dad didn’t have the balls to tell his mom to pick a real name), and frick TLJ.

So has Hamill. And all have been quickly silenced.

I don't share this sentiment. I don't like his Trek films and TFA was decent but played it way too safe. We will see after Rise though.
