I think the only reason he let the family go was to actually catch the son once he saw that they staked out the meet.
ALso they was a little confusion about who was under the red hoodie. Don't recall them giving a full face shot. I assumed it was the son BUT after they swarmed him they cut to a shot of him and the milf in the detectives office.... The way they had his face shrouded and facing the buildings it seems like it may have been a decoy cop but then again why would they risk the guy seeing it was not the son, then again why would they risk the son getting hurt/killed ...confusing but not really that important.

The last episode was great. I feel like after this season there's not much else to write about. This season ends the story IMO, not sure what season 2 would look like.

Was Sideburns as the killer just misdirection? He saved one by taking her to the religious commune, and he seemed really sorry about killing her pimp bf/pimp in self defense, but I swear he killed some other chick he picked up in Juarez and took back to his trailer in the first episode. Whatever happened to her?

he didn't kill her, that's the girl that he was talking to at the commune in the last episode. He killed her boyfriend Hector. Hector was the guy that was coming after him to find her
