The trailer didn’t do much for me but when I saw it was a Joe Hill story, I was intrigued. Reviews have been great.

Saw it today and it lived up to the hype. Some nice jump scares, great acting by the younger actors, and Ethan Hawke made for a compelling and creepy serial killer.

Highly recommend for those wanting a good horror thriller.

I watched it last night. I thought it was good, not great. The final confrontation was pretty cheesy, IMO.

Yeah the ending kinda moved it down from great to good. I was expecting something completely different. All in all I enjoyed it.

I just got out. Liked it a lot. Minus all the loudmouth a-holes in the theater.

I loved the ending. All the pieces from the phone calls fell into place. Finney’s arm was mint.

I liked it a lot. Fun movie. Lots of nods to his dad’s movies.

Is this spoiler free?

*spoiler*

I especially liked that both dogs lived

Kyle, we’re we in the same showing? lots of people on phones in mine…

I’m in Alexandria and went to the 430. I was in middle of front row. One row behind me was full of talking teenagers. I finally had enough and politely asked them to stfu up towards the middle of the movie and it sorta worked. I don’t understand why some ppl even go to the movies. I also don’t understand how so many people can be so inconsiderate. That’s really the only reason I don’t go too often anymore. People annoy the shite out of me in theaters.

I’ve gone to 2 movies at The Grand since Covid. Saw Maverick and Jurassic on their opening weekend and went to the noonish showing of each after a good brunch at Le Bistreaux. No more than 8-10 people watching each one, which was great. I didn’t want to be pushing dark leaving when the bullets start flying in A-Town either.

It may be the greatest movie ever but I can’t watch movies with kids in danger. I heard this and “Lovely Bones” were great but I’ll never watch them.

The ending was completely different from what I had expected (trying to stay spoiler free) so that is why it went down for me. Its hard to explain what i mean and stay vague. I'll say this...i will buy it when it comes out on dvd/bluray.

That has to be one of the most satisfying villain deaths I’ve seen, especially in a horror movie. The boys antagonizing him through the phone right before Finney snapped his neck was a nice touch.

Same. It was a real switch that flipped for me once I had kids. A plot line about a kidnapped/tormented kid is a big nope for me. I saw a trailer for this at another movie and even during the trailer I was just thinking dear god let this end.

It’s a really solid theater. I just hate how bad that side of town and really all of Alexandria is getting . I’ve got 5-6 more years and we’re off to greener pastures.

When MoviePass was going the wife n I went about 5-6 times a week. Now I go about once every month /every other month. Damn I miss MoviePass. I knew it was too good to be true though.

I was really hyped for this movie. The reviews were insanely high. A summer horror movie with great reviews? Hell yeah. So I feel like I may have expected too much.

It was OK. I didn’t find anything particularly special about it. Some of the child acting was pretty cringe. I didn’t mind too much that things weren’t explained very well. Like lore, backstory, etc. That’s pretty common with horror.

Pretty good, but very mainstream and tame. It had a Stranger Things or IT feel to it. Not bad. But don’t expect a lot out of it.

I’m closer to this. I thought it was alright but nothing great. I thought the main kid was good. I think the girl can be good but they’ve made her unlikable too much of the time. I thought the Indian kid was pretty bad.

I thought the onscreen displays of violence were ludicrous. And I felt like we did deserve a little bit more explanation of what’s happening in some regards. I’m fine with a movie keeping mystery but here it’s just not overly satisfying.

Also, I just didn’t think this movie was that scary

It did have good tension, good atmosphere, great music, and Ethan Hawke definitely was creepy and had a presence.

Oh my gosh, there was the most blatant person on a phone right in front of me. I came very close to saying something. I went to my bad theater and it’s a risk and I lost out. Thankfully the crowd did eventually settle down

I’d give it 3 stars. Probably not a rewatchable film
So why didn’t the Grabbernot kill him soon? But did so to the others ?

SPOILER ALERT

They all tried to escape immediately and were naughty boys. Also his brother was staying in the house for a few days. His brother was all coke'd up and would more than likely witness him trying to dispose of a body and take him across the street

SPOILER ALERT
