Kitsch gets shite for a few duds early in his career but I think he’s a fine actor. Loved the first season

This is great TL was well done.

Kitsch is very good IMO, he did a good job in the Waco role and Tim Riggins will always be the dude

Disney and its marketing team and its executives are far more to blame for John Carter flopping than Kitsch.

Sure, he was probably pushed too hard, but that movie isn't bad in retrospect, but it was just such a bizarrely out of nowhere film that had a ballooned budget and one that no one really knew what to think of it.

Kitsch also plays military guys very well, snd he's one of the few actors in Hollywood who can actually pull it off.

The story of a Seal going to CIA will be very good. I just wish these were films instead of slow and bloated 8-10 Ep shows.

Very good news.

The entire James Reece series is great, imo. Excited for the new book.

I also am excited to see Riggins get a prequel. I enjoy the universe.

I watch the blu ray every year or so. Really enjoy the movie.

I hate to “the book was better” this show but it’s hard to avoid. They changed so much that I’m not sure why they even used the source material in the first place, it’s completely different from the book.

I’ll still watch this of course but the show would have been better if they just stuck to the book. The author liked the show though so I guess if he’s cool with it then who am I to gripe.

Prediction: this new season will be just as popular as the first, causing Amazon to milk this series as much as possible, starting with a third season where it’s revealed that Reese did not shoot Ben and they team up for another dynamic duo showdown.

Nah, would kill the Reese character. Ben was responsible for his family being murdered, Reese does not frick around.

it's not bad at all, nonetheless in retrospect.

I was mixed on the show, it certainly wasn't bad it just couldn't really recapture the depth and darkness of the book.

Unfortunately I think this is an Amazon Prime thing. It's very aligned with what we see in Jack Ryan, Reacher, etc. and it's the series that can least afford that treatment. Reacher, for example, is obviously a very reasonable fit for the cheesiness, cheaper feel. I thought the Horn/Capstone stuff was particularly bad.

I do think there is a chance to improve the series the further you get away from the major drama of S1. I think HBO or the like probably could have done a reasonably good job with that storyline, but it was a lot of material to pack in.

I love the books and I loved the show. I might be one of the few people that didn't mind most of the changes made. The biggest being how much more involved Kitsch's character was.

Without spoiling later books, Kitsch would have also been great in another friend role coming up (the unseen person that left them the boat in the last episode).

I said I hated to do it.

It’s barely the same story. They didn’t even need the book to make the show they put out. Pretty much the only thing they kept from the book was calling it The Terminal List.

The show was very faithful to the book, except the lone episode I hated - the avalanche episode. Most of the other changes improved the story and characters (especially Ben of course).

Jack Carr’s writing improves over the course of this book series, so I suspect there were things he was happy to go back and tinker with.

I am not sure what they will do with season 2. I absolutely loved book 2, particularly the first third, but the plot develops into something that will be difficult to do because of current world events.

I haven't read the books... but you KNOW the studio is trying like hell to figure out a path to do just that.

I wouldn't even exclude a Magnum PI "Mac" type event to occur; for those unfamiliar with it, they killed off a character, then recast that actor as someone else later, that Magnum still called "Mac".
