I want to start a new show on Netflix and see they have it.

Worth it to watch all 11 seasons? Does it get to a point where I should stop watching?

My favorite comedies are: Seinfeld, The Office, Parks and Rec and Arrested Development. Would I enjoy Cheers?

Thanks

You will enjoy Cheers unless you are very young, in which case, it might not be your brand of humor. It is a sitcom in the truest sense and very, very good at what it is supposed to be. A true classic.

At least give the first five or so episodes a shot.

I'm 28 and I enjoy all the same comedies you do.

About 2 or 3 years ago I tried the same endeavor, so run through Cheers all the way. I made it almost through the first season and just kinda gave up on it. I'm not trashing it, it just wasn't my cup of tea. To be fair though, I didn't have anyone to watch it with and didn't have netflix, so I had to watch it in my room on my laptop whenever I did watch it. Not really the best viewing conditions.

Cheers was probably the first show I was fanatical about.

The late season episodes aren't as good but still quality moments until the end.

This is what I do. I started a while back. It's set in a bar, so it's a lot of adult humor. I think I'm still in the first season, but dang there are a lot of episodes.

I just visited up there and even got a shirt. Maybe that'll give me a bit more motivation to watch some more.

The first few seasons are my favorite. I didn't like the later years as much but they are still good. I didn't like Kirstie Alley's character but I really liked Frasier on Cheers.

Part of Cheers success is that they didn't rely on their charter characters for the entire season. Coach dies and they bring in Woody. Diane leaves and they bring in Miss Howe and Frazier. They were solid with their replacement program.

Not to mention they have what is most likely the most recognizable intro song in the history of sitcoms.

I love the ending credits song though. I wish I could make it my ringtone.

I did something similar. I watched the entire series of Frasier on netflix. Took me a couple of months. Talk about a show that has held up extremely well. I would imagine Cheers is the same. I love the idea of taking a classic sitcom and running through the whole thing.

Yes - it's sitcom - 25 minute commitment per episode.

You're either going to like Rebecca (Kirstie Alley when she was still reasonably good looking) or you aren't.

The show was like an old friend, after a while, but I watched the entire run in real time.

One of my all time favorites. I love when Cliff is on Jeopardy.
