Part of your World.

Arguably saved Disney and brought in some of the greatest Disney movies ever due to popularity of little mermaid.

Dog was also nearly cut from the movie during audience testing.

Little mermaid is arguably the most important Disney movie ever made.

We should do a tournament for best song of all time.

Feed the Birds

Why Feed the Birds is Disney's Best Song Ever

Disney ballads usually only work on one level, “Feed the Birds” works on every level. There’s a reason it would go on to be Walt Disney’s favorite song and be a reoccurring musical theme throughout Mary Poppins (playing four times over the course of the film). The song represents everything the company idealizes itself as, altruistic, pure, and with deeper convictions, and what it often fails to measure up to. For that reason, for Julie Andrew’s voice, the marriage between adaption and original, the melody, and its understated quality, it’s the best song Disney’s ever recorded.

Feed the Birds. Walt Disney said it’s his favorite Disney song and perfectly encapsulates the reason he started Disney.

The song is so good the movie uses it again after Andrews sings it to the children...and they use it in the most powerful scene in the movie.

Mr. Banks loses his job because his kid won't deposit the money in the bank but spend it on feeding the birds.

My Personal Top 5

No particular order

"A Whole New World" - Aladdin
"Beauty and the Beast" - Beauty and the Beast
"Colors of the Wind" - Pocahontas
"Be Prepared" - The Lion King
"Let It Go" - Frozen

Even a top 5 is extremely hard to narrow down to. So many others that I could also include

This list is crap without "Zip-A-Dee-Doo-Dah" from Songs of the South -

Can't forget this spectacularly dressed cricket singing "Wish Upon A Star" -

Who hasn't whistled "Heigh Ho" on their way to work -

And anyone, I do mean anyone, that has ever been to Disney World has spent many hours getting this song out of their head -

It's probably Fantasia or Mary Poppins.

Both changed everything and taught them new techniques... and catapulted Disney before CGI as the leader in innovation..

I highly recommend taking 5 minutes to watch this brief Making of, gives insight to Walt and what Disney once was and aspired to.

Making of Mary Poppins on YouTube.
