This happened within the last few days. If you already have it downloaded it still works for now but if you delete it you won't be able to get it back. Not sure if it's a dispute over ad revenue or what.

Sucks b/c I use that app all the time on the Roku in my bedroom instead of getting a second box and that one is a Roku3 that I'm sure will be put out to pasture in the next year or so.

Its still working on Roku for all 3 of my TV’s right now. Would suck if they remove the app because I only just bought the 3 Roku’s a couple months ago when I dropped cable.

I didn't mean to make it sound like it's stopped working. As long as you already have the app you're still good. Just don't delete it b/c it's not available for download anymore and they don't know when or if it's going back up.

Yeah, I didn't realize this was even a thing, but went look and it's definitely not there. Damn.

I'm actually a little worried about what happened if it gets offloaded from my Roku b/c I have so many apps. Even though I only use 5 or 6 of them with frequency every now and then they offload and have to re-download themselves. I'm assuming b/c it's already on the Roku it will stay but I'll be super pissed if it offloads and stops working b/c of that. In fact, I'm going to delete some of the lesser used apps just to be safe for now.

Spectrum app working okay on at least two of the Roku TVs in the household.

Again, I didn't say the app has stopped working.

I said it's not longer available for download so if you delete it you can't get it back.

Spectrum statement on Roku situation

quote:

Despite our best efforts to reach an agreement, Roku has not accepted Spectrum's offer to continue our contract, which allowed customers to access the Spectrum TV app from Roku devices.
This change may prevent new downloads of the Spectrum TV app to your Roku device, but you can still access your full video library by downloading the Spectrum TV app to your Apple TV, Samsung Smart TV, Xbox, smartphone or tablet.
If you already use the Spectrum TV app on Roku, your service shouldn’t be affected.
Be sure not to uninstall the app, but you can still add devices by signing in to your current account.
If you’re new to Roku, or if you have not yet downloaded the app, you can still access Spectrum programming on another device, or use your smartphone or laptop to screen mirror Spectrum content to your Roku TV.

This is good to hear at least. Thanks for the update.

Yeah? Frick that mirroring bullshite. I haven't had HBO on several of my TV's since June because of the Roku/HBO fight. I am getting tired of this and will not be replacing my ROKU's with ROKU's as the time nears to upgrade.

I think Roku is really overestimating their value. I live using my Rokus, but I doubt that will continue if it gets to where I can't get the content I want to stream.

You won’t lose it if you already have it.

Roku and spectrum contract negotiations fell short

Roku wanted profit sharing and to be able to run ads on the STVA. Spectrum said no.

Rumor is, and by rumor I mean people I’m still connected with after 5 years with the company, spectrum is trying to secure a deal with Amazon to host the app on fire tv’s.
