Has anyone watched Netflix "Call My Agent"? It's a French comedy about a group of entertainment/movie/TV star agents. I watched it on a whim and I find it funny and entertaining. Up until now most of the foreign shows I've watched are dramas.

Not sure if it is still on there, but Rake is a pretty entertaining Australian show about a degenerate criminal attorney.

I Second “Kingdom”

Also, it’s on HBO max, but “Gomorrah” is an Italian Sopranos-

I've been watching a few Polish shows recently on Netflix. Sort of the typical nordic noir murder mystery stuff except Polish versions. I've watched "The Woods", "The Mire", "Ultraviolet" and "Open Your Eyes". I've gotten used to subtitles but I know that is a problem for a lot of Americans. But anyway, I've appreciated recommendations from this post in the past and wanted to put some out there for anyone who watches this kind of stuff.

I watched "Gone for Good" which is an adaption of a Harlan Coben book which is a French version of the genre. The Polish show "The Woods" is also a Harlan Coben book adaption. There are more out there and more to come on Netflix. Anyway if you like foreign stuff, give one or more of these a try.

It’s a really good show, but absolutely nothing like the Sopranos.

Maybe I need to give this a second chance. I got two episodes through and thought it was cheesy AF.

The French show, Black Spot is fantastic. It's got a lot of Twin Peaks vibes. It's a tragedy that it didn't get a third season.

Marianne is also a good French show if you're into horror.

Kept hearing good things about The Silent Sea. A 8 part Korean series about a futuristic trip to a moon base that goes wrong.

1 ep in, and I like the tone of the show, there are (for me) considerable issues.

Haven't seen any other threads on this yet, figured here would be as good as any to mention it.

The first season of 3% is pretty amazing. Season 2 is okay and by season 3, it seemed like they were starting to drag everything out, so I ended up giving up on it.

It's kind of like a Brazilian version of Squid Game, but the challenges that they have to get through are really creative and clever.

Silent Sea - 3 eps in and it's really trying my patience.

I'm hearing that it gets better but at this rate, I'm 50/50 on finishing it.

thank you for the Suburra rec. Just finished watching it all the way through. Loved season 1, thought season 2 was a little too chaotic. One second one person is in charge and 10 minutes later someone else was. Really enjoyed Season 3.

Has anyone mentioned Sky Rojo yet? It's about three women who had been sex-trafficked and were forced to work in a brothel on the Spanish island of Tenerife, but decide to escape after an incident.

Most foreign stuff I've watched on Netflix is known to M/TV, so not really hidden. Here's what's still on my list:

Alice in Borderland (Japan)
Better Than Us (Russia)
Derry Girls (UK)
Secret City (Australia)
Sex Education (UK)
Sexify (Poland)
Sisyphus (Korea)
Travelers (Canada)

Hey, any go you foreign film/series aficionados ever see the following:
On Body and Soul

It's a 2017 Netflix movie out of Hungary. It's a slow burn and a nearly two hour romance show with some strange protagonists. And because they are "atypical" it has to be a slow burn. And the acting is out of the park.

I love a good foreign show.

I've seen The Woods and I love that nordic noir murder mystery your talking about. Out of the others in your post, what do you recommend best? All sound interesting....

Watch Of Body and Soul.
I won't give much away. Only it seemed quite strange to me until I figured it out. A subtle romance story of two most unlikely people.

Since you've seen the Woods, try Hold Tight on Netflix. You will see some characters you recognize. It's another Harlan Cabin Polish show.

Not on Netflix but.....
Put State of Happiness on the list. It is a Norwegian show and about the discovery of Ekofisk and Phillips Petroleum and how the event changed Norway. I found it via A Prime and a Topic subscription. I've watched a bunch of Scandinavian and Northern European stuff on Topic and I love that stuff. Watch it in the seven day trial if you already have too many subscriptions.

The lead Norwegian actress was fabulous in the role. And they speak a lot of English in dialogue with the American Phillips characters.
