So, who is going to be in charge of the rebellion?

I'm guessing they won't let Poe assume command. Though he is an implied non-white guy. He's also a dude, so he's right out.
Laura Dern is dead, in a scene that was probably originally written to be a glorious death for Admiral Ackbar, before Kathleen rubbed her stinky twat all over it.
I'm sure Leia was supposed to be the heroin that would be "acceptable" to all of the stupid men who like Star Wars, but Carrie Fisher is dead. I don't think they're going to promote her jap daughter, Billie Lourd, since I think she was an ensign or something anyway.
They might make Rey the default leader, but that would spread her out too thin in tghe various storylines. It would be hard for her to have a final confrontation with Kylo while commanding battles that I'm sure Disney thinks will save the franchise.
The worst case scenario would be CGI Leia, which I'm kind of rooting for this because I know how stupid it would be. They might come to their senses and leave it out, though I do expect CGI force ghost Leia to make an appearance. Skirting the line between material and hologram is going to be tough, though. Can't have "ghosts" in the movie. Gotta placate those Asians and get dem simoleons.
I checked, and the ranking officer at this time is Commander D'Acy, the horrible red-headed nose creature who for some cruel reason had multiple closeup shots in TLJ. I'm so glad I watched this online and didn't get my eye poked out by that thing in theaters.
played admirably by Amanda Lawrence. From her IMDB page:
I mean, Admiral D'Acy.

quote:Wow. I'm noticing a pattern there. And that's her entire IMDB bio. Seriousy. Amanda sounds like a barrel full of fun. I'm sure you remember Suffragettes, the total SJW lickfest chronicling the worst mistake America ever made, but in case you were wondering just what the frick "Womb" is, it's where
Amanda Lawrence was born as Amanda Jones. She is known for her work on Suffragette (2015), Star Wars: The Last Jedi (2017) and Womb (2010).
quote:That must have been the "sci-fi experience" that made them cast her. Anyway, good luck, Commander D'Acy.
A woman's consuming love forces her to bear the clone of her dead beloved. From his infancy to manhood, she faces the unavoidable complexities of her controversial decision.
I mean, Admiral D'Acy.

A strong independent woman, probably black or Latino just for virtue signaling.

I suspect all the women will commune together to make decisions as a collective.

Who cares? What's the point of leading 10 people.

Can we get a tl;dr for your OP?

The actor who plays Wedge said he'd be bored by the idea of returning. Offer him $5 million for a day's shoot and he will return. He can be one of the New Republican forces that aide the Resistance as well as Lando.

It will be CGI force ghost Leia long before they let toxic masculinity like Poe be in charge.

Rose will jump straight from private to general.

Who cares, it doesn't even make any sense. The entire First Order/Resistance conflict is so fricking stupid.
I like that no one answered the Resistance's distress call. People are tired of warlord Leia's bullshite. They will probably celebrate her death like they did Palpatine's.

Exactly. How the hell did we go from the rebels toppling Vader, the Emperor, and two Death Stars in the OT to the resistance having twenty people, with 17 of whom are women? What kind of people would follow a general in Leia who squandered such a good position?

All of this.
Like SFP said, this movie should've been flipped.
Ep VII should've been set up as Luke training the Jedi at the temple and The Republic ruling the galaxy. Snoke starts a small rebellion and then turns Kylo and the Knights of Ren. The movie ends with Kylo burning down the temple and Luke going into hiding.
Ep VIII is The Force Awakens. Rey trying to find Luke 10 years after VII, Ren and Snoke have built Starkiller base and destroyed the Republic capital, etc... The Republic takes a massive blow, but it's till powerful. The First Order rebellion is gaining support however. Seeing as nothing happened in TLJ outside of Rey finding Luke and Luke fighting Kylo, you could just compress the entire plot line of that movie into 20 minutes and add it to the end of TFA or the beginning of IX.
Episode IX is then set up as a showdown between Rey and Kylo. Or even better those two team up to take out both the Republic (remains of the Jedi) and the First Order (remains of the Empire) and start all over again.

Did you see the movie? Both Leia and Hutto saw Poe as the future leader and at the end when they were trying to escape Leia said "don't look at me, follow him"
I swear some of you only see what you want to see.

In fairness, that was before they figure out that Poe was behind the mission that got 90% of their escape pods exposed and destroyed AND Poe led them all right to a solid wall of boulders.

yeah but
#1 the overall message, particularity from Leia, was that she saw Poe as the future leader of the reistance and was trying to teach him how to look at the big picture rather than just blowing shite up
and
#2 Had Poe not ignored orders and taken out the Dreadnaught, they would have been blown to smithereens when the FO tracked them through lightspeed.

Yep. Poe is clearly set up to be the leader in the next movie.

She's obviously the reason the entire republic collapsed. They made her incompetent.

Finn and Rose in a tap-team effort.
Or just Poe.
