The game of thrones couldn’t keep going as it was. Dany broke the wheel. And Bran let it happen bc it would result in change for the better

What prevents an "elected" ruler in charge of the treasury from raising an army + sellswords and declaring himself permanent King? We already saw the "wheel" turning by Bran letting his sister declare herself sovereign of the North.

The remaining houses realized they couldn't keep wiping each other out. There wasn't much left.

Dany took them to the edge of nuclear war and it scared the heck out of them

You’re King until you die

King until death. But then a new king is chosen. Basically they did away with any type of royal line of succession.

Seems more like the papacy. Only the cardinals get to vote.
