Skyler White at Walt's Remission Party

First she gets her job back working with Ted Beneke..then after Walt goes into remission she puts him completely on blast and announces at the party that Elliot and Gretchen paid for Walt's treatment. Emasculating him in front of everyone. What a count. She got what she deserved.

Skyler's an awful wife. She's mean, she's vindictive, and she slept around.
Not sure what her redeeming qualities are. Walt is a monster, and that's the point of the show. But Skyler sucks balls from the very beginning.

she first has to accept that she lives with an evil, awful scum of a human. Then once that realization sets in she actually helps him in his businses. And when outside forces threaten to blow the whole thing up, she did what she had to to keep their family out of legal trouble and keep them safe.
She only sucks so bad because she's an antagonist to the guy we're all cheering for as a viewer. Therefore she sucks. But if this were real life that wouldn't be the case at all.

She did not. She should have gone to Hank the moment she found out and extracted herself, Walt Jr., and the baby from that situation. I like Carmella Soprano better as the enabler bitch wife. They did an amazing job where she goes to the priest and then a psych to hear this advice but totally ignores it because of the money. Neither show lets the wife off the hook and they are as flawed as their husbands.

She can have terrible circumstances and still be a raging count. It's not one or the other. She's fricking terrible, even if Walt was a total piece of shite too.

Skylar SHOULD be empathetic but she always just comes across as a bitch.

Because it takes chops to portray that type of character IMO. Skylar is a bitch most of the time, but she’s also in a garbage situation. I thought Anna Gunn did a great job of portraying how a seemingly average Karen housewife would react under those circumstances.
I compare my respect for her performance of an unlikeable Skylar to someone like Jason Isaac’s ability to play unlikeable characters.

I'm not sure if it's the character or the actress playing her...I feel like a different actress playing the exact same character would have a much different perception

so like..the first couple episodes? lol
The first couple episodes she knows he is hanging around with jesse pinkman (weird, from the outswide looking in) and assumes he's buying weed. He stays out late and doesn't tell her where he's been and she ends up finding a second cell phone he's hidden from her.
Look I wouldn't want to be married to her, she's not a great wife and she is bitchy and she does have plenty to talk shite on her about. I'm not arguing otherwise. But she's made out to be some kind of devil witch which simply isn't true.
