There's a lot of room for what you call a serious movie. Horrors, dramas, suspense, chic flicks all have serious themes. With that said there are some that had the opposite effect that are funny as hell.

My nominee is "Falling Down" with Michael Douglas. I haven't seen it in a while until recently and it was freaking hilarious.

What do you have?

Falling down is a good one. I thought the restaurant scene was hilarious.

Fargo (I realize it was a dark comedy). But is was a true story about kidnapping and murder.

No it isn't. They just put that in the beginning for effect. Its complete fiction.

It is literally supposed to be a comedy. Comedies can be about anything.

I lose it laughing at all of the Fast and Furious movies with the unrealistic action sequences and cheeseball lines. They're a lot of fun to watch, but I laugh constantly.

The Equalizer. Especially the end when they do the slo-mo with the sprinkler system falling on him and he's shooting the nail gun.

There's a couple of scenes in True Grit (the new one) where Indians are featured.

One was the hanging scene. The other was the kids at the trading post scene.

I think I was the only one in the theater who understood what he was watching, because I was the only one laughing his arse off at both.

Top Gun

We laughed loudly at the “Need for speed” line. We laughed quietly through the rest of the movie.
