The funniest thing to me is the definition of a cross in his office which reads "A thing you hang people on."

It was a banner movie for the acting Murray brothers, too. Brian-Doyle Murray (the oldest brother) played the father of Francis Cross (Bill) in the flashback scene, while John Murray played Cross' brother, James, and James' guest at the Christmas party was played by John Murray.
