If there ever was an extremely average 5/10 movie, this would be it. Had some laughs throughout mostly from Jake Johnson, Isla Fisher, and Hannibal Burress’ characters. John Hamm played the straight man and Ed Helms played the same character he basically does in every movie. And Jeremy Renner’s character was pretty good if not a little over the top.

But yeah like I said, perfectly average 5/10. I would say see it if you’re bored with nothing to do.

Nothing to do with the movie, I just wanna say thanks for giving a review without claiming it to be great or awful, which seems to be the only 2 choices people think they have these days

I will still see it just because I wish I would have thought of doing something like that back in high school.

I felt like the first half of the movie was very average, but it hit its stride towards the end. I’d say it’s a solid 6.5-7 as far as just as a pure comedy. I enjoyed it

Jake Johnson and Hannibal Buress carried the movie tho. Helms was the weakest of the cast

Yeah id give it a 5. Feels like comedies just arent that funny anymore. A few laughs here and there, but def long stretches without them

Thanks for the review. Just as a reference, how would you rank it with Game Night if you have seen that movie?

Funny you say that, walking out i was thinking about how there was some similarities to Game Night

I liked Game Night much better tho. Better script and directing. But the same strokes of dark comedy mixed in

I don’t think it’s spoilery to say they only play one month a year, the month of May. They have pretty thorough rules that they talk about in the movie.

I mean it depends. It’s definitely humorous and if you have movie pass you should go since the only thing you’re spending is gas and time. I tried not to sway the argument one side or the other, hence giving it a five. If anybody is familiar with that douche lord Jeremy Jahns and his rating system, if I was going by that, I’d say it would be a better time with some drinks. Which doesn’t necessarily mean you have to be drunk to get through it, it just means maybe a beverage here or there could heighten the experience

I'm going tonight, and I'm excited. Not expecting anything sensational. Just hoping to laugh some.

I enjoyed it. It dragged out in some places, but it was certainly Movie Pass worthy.
If nothing else, watch it for the soundtrack. That soundtrack is incredible!

I liked it. For this type of movie I give an 8/10. Plot and story were good and I laughed a good amount

Saw it tonight. Actually really liked it. It wasn’t the funniest movie I’ve ever seen but it had me chuckling consistently with a few laugh out loud moments. All around good comedy for date night on a Saturday
