I just saw a trailer for Mary Queen of Scots and I got to thinking about how Ronan is one of our generations great actresses, yet doesn't have the accolades of a mediocre actress such as Lawrence.

Atonement
The Lovely Bones
The Grand Budapest Hotel
Brooklyn
Lady Bird

She is amazing in everything I see her in and I'm continuously impressed.

Lawrence was great in Winter's Bone, but an Oscar for Silver Lining Playbook and nominated for that huge piece of shite, Joy? She is completely overrated, but I think the box office is beginning to show this with poor performing movies like Red Sparrow, Passengers and Serena.

I know this reinforces your point... but... I've never heard of her before this thread.

Do yourself a favor and watch Brooklyn. It is really good.

I think it's "sir-shuh" or "sear-shuh". I've heard both.

Sur-Sha (Sur rhymes with "sir", Sha rhymes with "duh").

I actually decided to google it right after I posted that, and I found this link: youtube link.

But yeah, it looks like both of you are correct about the pronunciation.

I'm still trying to figure out why people think that walking bag of moles is hot.

She is the most controversial character on The CW (Arrow).

Ronan is great, but your statement here is dumb. You may find her insufferable, and rightly so, but she's a good actress.

She's a great actress but I've intensely disliked almost every film she's been in save Atonement.

Wasn't expecting to enjoy those movies as much as I did. (Gemma Arterton doesn't get as much credit for her abilities as she deserves btw)

Didn't really like the Ladybird movie, but her performance was typically top notch. She's definitely one of the very most talented young actresses right now.

J Law has fallen off the mark somewhat, but I liked Red Sparrow more than some of her other recent stuff.
