That's surprising. Compared to his other netlfix movies. I haven't seen it yet. Maybe tonight.

Nothing new or earth shattering. Just a plain ole entertaining feel good flick.

It's a solid movie and I think it has more to do with the script than Sandler's acting chops. I knew going in that it wasn't going to be a typical fart joke type movie but it really surpassed my expectations. Definitely more depth than anything else he's been in. The cameos are pretty cool too.

Is this the first non comedy Sandler you have seen? Because that's not close to being true.

It's a good sports movie. Has a little bit of drama, some comedy, and a smidge of wholesome family to it. It was an entertaining movie.

Yeah this is a feel-good drama with tons of NBA and NBA-related cameos. The two players who are really asked to act (Anthony Edwards and Juancho) are both pretty damn good.

If you want to get into the minute details of the plot, there are certainly some things that don’t make sense from a basketball standpoint but it isn’t absurd.

No fart and dick jokes at all.

Sandler is a huge fan and player so I suspect this is exactly the kind of person he could have been IRL if he wasn’t talented at comedy and was a much better player growing up.

Much like with Funny People, we probably get a bit of a peak into his real life personality.

The dramas or semi-dramas I’ve seen him in are this, Funny People, Uncut Gems, and Punch Drunk Love. I know there’s a drama about depression after 9/11 as well.

What are his other dramatic roles?

Thanks, I didn’t know the title but saw a preview for Reign Over Me.

Is Meyerowitz Stories not a comedy? I thought it was but not at all in the Billy Madison/Happy Gilmore style.

I usually give his movies a try...but taking a pass on this one when I saw Queen Latifah was in it.

She has a fairly easy role, thought she was fine in it. The family segment was the least interesting to me but the acting was all solid.

That part was fine. They aren’t a believable couple IMO and it has nothing to do with race. The daughter relationship was good.

It’s a good, entertaining movie. Won’t win an Oscar, but pretty enjoyable considering all the crap movies Netflix puts out.

Why? She's not in the movie Equalizing the shite out of people. She plays the supporting wife in a nice, comfortable, middle-aged couple.

They were perfectly believable as a fifty-ish mixed-race couple.

Fell asleep after the first hour last night but its solid as hell. Sandler impressed me, and Duvall looked good for his age.

And yeah even though Sandler is famous for his comedy, he is honestly an excellent dramatic actor. Punch Drunk Love, Uncut Gems, Reign Over Me, Spanglish, Funny People, and this. Not bad.

I don’t think it was bad or anything.

But I don’t see why it’s getting such good reviews. Middle of the road movie to me.
