Did you watch the full scene? Talos (who was impersonating him) was REPORTING to him at the end of Far From Home.

I hope this series brings back Chloe Bennet (Daisy Johnson), Neal McDonough (Dum Dum Dugan), Ming-Na Wen (Melinda May), Henry Simmons (Alphonso McKenzie) and Cobie Smulders (Maria Hill) but adds Clay Quartermain and others.
