I may be a little prisoner of the moment because I just finished but I was thoroughly entertained the entire time watching

PS: I know theres a thread on this already but I didnt want to have to read through 16 pages of political arguments to discuss a television show

I agree with you. This season brought the fan service full throttle. So much fun. Gonna be hard to top it IMO.

There wasnt much political talk at all. And you're not required to read through everything, you could have just posted on page 16. Downvote.

I was not a fan of season 2 mostly because of the character splitting and that it seemed like el was by herself for 90% of the season. I thought the groupings this season were so much better.

The attention to detail of the plot setting has improved over the 1st two. The last 2 seasons looked like they were from the grunge period of the 90's and not the 80's. They did better this season but are a little over the top which is fine. The 80's was over the top to begin with.

You’ll get downvoted to oblivion because people on this board cannot just enjoy a TV show and need to nitpick.

I think you may be right though, need to rewatch to confirm. It’s absolutely better than season 2 and the fight scenes/CGI is the best in the series so far. It also has a much greater gravity to the threat with real consequences. I loved it and couldn’t wait to watch the next episode each time. Final battle delivered too and great to see some of the characters aside from El be heroes as well. Dustin and Susie’s song was hilarious and outta nowhere, great addition in an otherwise serious episode with some tearjerker moments throughout. They definitely went full on 80s in this one, which I don’t hate since I love the decade.

I’m curious where things go from here. I presume they’ll eventually have to fight the Mind Flayer in the Upside Down to beat it definitively but could also use it for portals to other openings elsewhere (Russia?). Looking forward to season 4.

Season 1 had actual characterization and emotional depth. Season 3 is rife with empty, hokey dialogue and failed attempts at humor.

Characters acted appropriately under intense situations in previous seasons. There was a more serious tone. They lack that sense of urgency under similar situations this season.

Season 3 is better than season 2, but it doesn't come close to matching the first season.

Humor is subjective so we can agree to disagree here. I thought this season had a strong number of legitimate funny moments. The only attempts I can remember that fell flat were the ones about the sexual tension between Hopper and Joyce

This is the 3rd time children have saved the world, maybe they are feeling a little bullet proof. And nonchalantly facing intense situations is a pretty common theme in 80's movies.

I will agree season 3 and season 1 are very dissimilar in their presentation. I like both and maybe a rewatch would give me a better appreciation of the first one.

I'm 5 episodes in and this is by the best season. It started a little slow, but it was just setting the stage. So far loving the story arcs with every character.

I think Season 3 was the most fun season for sure, but I feel like Season 1 as a whole was better as an experience and story.

I was way more engaged with the plot and on the edge of my seat with S1 and even S2 when compared to S3.

S3 however was such a pleasant experience. This cast is overwhelmingly talented, I love how they interact, the writers have a good sense of humor, so much 80’s nostalgia, etc

Hope they can keep the magic going in S4
