Watched this movie for the first time in 10 years last night. I had forgotten how great I thought it was. Paul Walker's best performance IMHO. It plays out like a dark fantasy and it's incredibly violent with a compelling story. Big twist at the end (which looking back on it should've seen coming). Plus Vera Farmiga in this movie was

Am I just flooded with overwhelming nostalgia, or did others find it as great as I did?

The one with Billy Crystal and Gregory Hines is better.

The torture scene taking the hockey puck to the face was intense

I liked the movie

RIP Paul

I thought it was a ridiculous mess tbh. I haven’t seen it since it came out in the theaters, but I want to say i remember it being a movie with about five different movies in it.

Wasn’t there some weird rapist couple that killed children, and made snuff films that basically just came out of nowhere?

Yes.

While I remember enjoying the movie when I first saw it (in probably 2007 or so) I couldn't tell you anything about it anymore because none of it was truly that memorable EXCEPT FOR the scenes with that couple. That little detour was legitimately terrifying.

that's fair. There's Italian mobsters, Russian mobsters, crooked cops, creepy homeless men, drug dealers, pimps, sadistic predator parents, undercover cops, hockey torture, etc. All this while just chasing a gun and a kid is chaotic.

I enjoyed all of the chaos though

I thought this was going to be about Running Scared from the 80s.

I still remember when they put their suspect in a lineup for the witness.

Worked at video store (for those that remember what those were) when this came out.

It has to be top 3 straight to video movies from 2000 - 2010.

I assume it was supposed to be a dark fairy tale. Like something from The Brothers Grim.

Yea I liked it but man I honestly found myself seeing how long they could go without saying “f*ck.”

I’m serious and I say it more than I should.

I’m also pretty sure it’s one of the top movies for the amount of curse words in a film.

Google it, they have a list.

Supposedly that's Wayne Brady playing the character but I have never been able to confirm.

"Just do as you're told Number 5"

"That's him...that's the one!" (in stereotypical old Jewish man voice)

Extremely underrated buddy cop movie.
