We all need a safe space for us to gather and share in our love for Rose Taco. Consider this it. Here we can all rejoice in our admiration of such an inspiring figure who has taught me how to save what I love, which is why I am saving these gifs of the great Tico.

Someone said she represented a girl Rian Johnson mightve had a crush on earlier in life.

this makes a lot of sense. who else would destroy an entire franchise other than someone who crushes on Tico

I appreciate her gumption in sexually assaulting Finn, who was clearly not into that kiss at all.

I feel sorry for the actress. Imagine landing the role of a lifetime and then becoming a lightning rod for all the negativity of the failed sequels.

Rose is also one of the worst, useless characters in SWGOH. (mobile sw game). We feed her to the Rancor.

Jar Jar is indisputably a better character than Rose, to put things into perspective

At least JJB had potential as a Sith.

Still pissed they didn't go with the Darth Darth Binks subplot.

Disclaimer - I only watched Last Jedi once and have forgotten almost the entirety of the movie.

In both the Original Trilogy and the Prequel Trilogy, we really only experienced the conflict between the Republic and the Empire from the POV of the Jedi and various military commanders.

In TFA, Abrams introduces Fin as a reluctant Stormtrooper, a member of the Empire with a different perspective that broadened the audience's view of the Empire's actions.

My guess is that Johnson was trying to mirror that with Rose, but instead of directing her class conscious anger and motivation at the Republic (as Fin did to the Empire), she just directed it at a casino or some shite on one stupid planet and reaffirmed Fin's existing bias towards the plight of slaves and the underclass. The audience gained nothing new.

For a character like that to work, they have to resent Leia and the Republic for being out of touch and allowing slavery/etc to happen on a planetary level or something. Then they betray the Resistance to the Empire and hopefully get killed at the end in a double-double cross anyway.

That would be interesting and require more than a passing glance of character development. They only know how to make strong woman and emotional, flawed man characters now. Your thinking is outdated bigot.

More likely someone who dumped him and his revenge is to have them forever associated with a disliked character.

There's a plump Asian woman with bangs out there that has no idea why people in the grocery store sneer at her.

It could've potentially redeemed the entire Prequel's legacy, if the initial hate on JJB hadn't been so instantaneous. You'll never convince me that Count Dooku was originally a thing in the story.

Many lifelong SW fans are in the boat with you, and no one would blame us.

ETA - Well, no one reasonable. The faux outrage mob certainly has much to say about it, to this day.

She looks like a character from Scott Pilgrim.
