I just looked at his comment on Dunn, how the hell was that insensitive?
RIP Ebert
RIP Ebert

His comment on Dunn is uber casty.

The most influential film critic not named Pauline Kael. He was a fantastic writer and he shaped the movie industry. I'll miss his reviews, especially his negative ones. No one could trash a movie like Ebert.

No breaks required. What he speaks is the truth. Name another critic the general public was as familiar with.

Just saw this on CNN. Poor man.

Two things:
1) The guy loved Dark City dearly, if you have ever seen that movie, and never watched it with Roger Ebert Commentary, you don't know what you are missing.
2) There's a difference between "film critic," and "film criticism." While I'm sure, had Ebert devoted his life to it, he could have written reams of academically-centered high-level writing, that was never his choice. At the same time, he didn't go low-brow. He aimed for the middle, and nailed it.

He really was. You could tell he was a smart guy and not just some hack trying to get attention with outrageous or snarky critiques.

I think his website just crashed

Loved reading his reviews and watching his "And The Movies" show several years back. He left quite a mark on film criticism in America. RIP.

I would be lying if I didn't say that he molded me from a young age with his film analysis and reviews. Definitely the biggest celebrity death I've been bummed about for quite some time.
