Yikes. I wasn’t impressed by rocketman at all. Guess that mean a Bohemian Rhapsody is gonna suck.

I’ll still give it a shot

I recall liking Bohemian Rhapsody much more.

Freddie seemed to come out on top while Rocketman made Elton look pitiful. He just got screwed over again and again and never overcame.

Rocketman also too many sex scenes that just aren't my taste and most of them served no point to the storyline.

I have not seen Rocket Man but I loved Bohemian Rhapsody as a someone who only knew very little about Queen going in.

I now listen to them weekly as well.

Bohemian Rhapsody felt rushed

Like an infomercial for passive fans of Queen’s discography

Rocketman never pretended to be biographical. It seemed more dream-like in its interpretation

A better ‘movie’ if you will

Having said that
Rocketman isn’t amazing by any stretch
I was just comparing to closely released music/icon biographies that seemed to come out around the the same time

Thought I would be in the minority.

I loved Bohemian Rhapsody WAAAAAAY more. And it's not like it was amazing. Pretty solid but nothing special. I absolutely hated Rocketman, which fricking sucks because I love Elton John. Didn't think this movie did him justice.

I thought Rocketman was great, and for a Hollywood movie about a flamboyant gay man, there was surprising little gay shecks.

I loved Bohemian Rhapsody and hated Rocketman. To me there was no comparison.

Completely disagree. I was thoroughly entertained by Bohemian Rhapsody because it knew what it wanted to be - a tribute to Freddie Mercury and the music of Queen. It succeeded in both regards and was one of the biggest blockbuster hits of 2018. It even managed to win the most Oscars that year while also being nominated for Best Picture.

Gary Busey did a great job as Buddy and the music was on point in that movie. How much better would music be today if it didn't die that day.

My one annoyance with Rocketman was that they leave you with the impression that many of Elton's song are based on or about his life

In reality they're mostly just tunes thrown together by Bernie Taupin that have very little to do with anyone specific

I was amused that Littlefinger and Robb Stark each played the same character in the 2 movies

Rocketmann arrangements were so lesser than the real thing which really turned me off.

Not the case for bohemian rhapsody.
