Can someone explain why there was ZERO law enforcement in Jasper? Was the topic ever covered? I can understand Brad Wesley paying them off or whatever, but there was never even a sense that he was.

He just ruled the town with an iron fist. Fights, stabbings, shootings, truck running through businesses, and throats being pulled out. Zero police presence.

I just figured this was implied. He had a lot of power in that town. I mean JC Penney was coming there because of him!

There were police. They just stayed out of Wesley's way. They even showed up in the end. They probably came to protect Wesley and ended up finding him dead.

They had a choice of the My-way Patrol or the Highway Patrol.

They chose my way.

Why did he need to kick him after his throat was already ripped out?

You fight a guy that used frick guys like Dalton in prison and do the best throat rip in history. Then, see how good your roundhouse form is.

That’s because it was a roadhouse kick.

That's called "taking out the trash" in bouncer speak.

They said in the movie that Wesley owned the locals and nobody wanted to bring the Feds in because nobody wanted to testify against Wesley.

They probably felt kind of stupid in retrospect, considering how easy it was to just light him up at the end.

It's going to be crazy catching that on Turner Classic Movies in about 20 years or so.

I thought the better question was- how much does it cost to hire Dalton to come in and clean up your bar? Dude buys a junk car, pays who knows how much for medical costs, lodging, and expenses. Doesn’t seem like a good investment just to get people to stop fighting and stealing in a bar.
