I love this movie and it still holds up. It has a great story line with great acting. I wish they made more movies like this. I know Clear and Present Danger is a sequel l but this was is a classic.

First 3/4 of patriot games and Clear and Present Danger are both incredible.

The final action scenes just kind of fall flat for me on both, though. Those films best parts are the pacing and cat and mouse game of it all. Once everyone knows everything, it kind of goes awry.

They are both still great great films, though, and should be made more. The spy/espionage genre is so underutilized.

I’ve probably watched this movie 50+ times. It was one of my go to movies when I was home from school sick.

Good movie, but the books for this and C&PD were better.

Been a while since I read them, but C&PD and PG were decent adaptations of the books, as I recall.

They really did frick up the plot with The Sum of all Fears. ( I guess they didn't want to give the Muslims any ideas? )

Liev Schreiber was a far better John Clark than William DaFoe, fwiw

Sum of all Fears should have been a much better film. That was back in the back Afleck acting days. Of a similar concept, I much prefer The Peacemaker.

Couldve been even better if they had followed the book at the end and how Ryan hooked up w Gunny
