As with most episodes you can gain some level of clarity with a second viewing. It’s a little easier to follow this go-round. I think the fact that I was hanging on the edge of my seat combined with low lighting… Rephrase… Awful lighting… Might skew initial reviews. Arya is a bad arse… Without a doubt. More and more I can see this leading up to the eventual ending that has left many perplexed and pissed off.

I did that and still couldn’t see shite the last episode. I tried all kinds of different things with it on pause and it still sucked arse

I’ve got a pretty good quality TV…4K and all. Original viewing took some getting used to… But when you’re prepared for it you seem to have a keener eye.

Just finished my second watch. Even better this time. The music was perfect, and most of the visuals were breathtaking. This season has been great. I’m loving the focus on Winterfell.

There are multiple articles out there circulating about how terrible the lighting was. It's not just you.

I give them a pass on the lighting bc (1) it would have been like a billion dollar episode if they had used more lighting bc the dim lighting covers up for production quality and (2) it was supposed to be fricking dark what with the night king and all.

Arya being AA was pretty much told to us from the beginning of the episode. Red woman stares, beren dies, then she literally tells her she will kill someone with blue eyes. That obviously meant the nk, she had already killed a slew of wights. Kind of ruined the “Jon isn’t going to make it in time” aspect for me

Watching it now and I’ve adjusted my tv to where I can see things tonight. If I watched last night with this setting, I still would have bitch about how dark it was. But this is ten times better than last night. Like previous poster said, if they would have filmed this in the daytime or just with more lighting, it would have cost a fortune.

Definitely a different emotion after watching the episode for the second time… Clarity… Objectivity.

Completed my rewatch.

WAY better on second viewing. Turns out, I had the brightness settings on my TV jacked. Once adjusted, everything was much clearer.

Arya killing the NK was a WTF moment first time. Rewatch framed this much better.

My only complaint is not allowing Theon to scream his family’s creed as he charged the NK. If ever there was a time and a place for it, that was it. frick how’d they miss that?!?!?

Yep, much better on thr 2nd go round and it was not dark. I watched it now 2 different TVs and it was very different om my plasma TV. It was not "dark"

I get why people fussed about the lighting, but I tend to agree. I thought they balanced the actual setting and the fact it's a TV show about as well as you could.

Frankly, I don't recall many pitch black large fight scenes in history. I guess Helm's Deep? That shite was lit up almost comically if you think about it.

“What is dead may never die” doesn’t seem appropriate when charging into the Dead.

Also, I think Theon realizes and accepts that Winterfell and the Starks are his true home and family

Most people are ignoring the absolute musical Master piece that cane from this episode. “The night king” is fricking better than “the light of the seven.”

don't you know that's just the "I'm a cool internet person's" response when they don't know what to do to someone making a statement.

I’m glad to know it wasn’t just my TV. Damn I spent a lot of money on this TV.

Yeah, the lighting sucked really really badly.
