Is this the last season?

For me last season was the last season. Ray, who was never animated to begin with, is little more than a brooding zombie now. His family remains severely mentally challenged and the show is simply unenjoyable to watch.

No, Showtime announced recently that season 6 has been approved.

I really liked this show, but this past season was unwatchable with the sad flashbacks the entire time.

Just not good at all.

The episode when Abbie took her life was good, but overall, the season was a shitshow. The finale was just godawful bad, bad and stupid. The highlight was Bunchy dispensing wisdom to Darrel, which, of course, Darrel ignores, instead opting to sell his soul.

Wife and I are still slogging through it. Each episode feels more like a punishment than enjoyment. I feel obligated to finish it since I've watched this far, though each season I'm just praying it returns to season one's greatness.

It actually picked up a little once they finally crossed over the beleaguered Abby dying non-linear, jumbled headache.

Whichever TD member posted that "Giving Abby Cancer" is the new "Jumping the Shark" was right on.

I am a bit conflicted on him straight up murdering the scum bag producer. Ray has offed plenty of folks but it was generally in self defense type situations. This was more of an outright contract murder. Old Ray would have framed this guy for some crime and had him locked away in prison or outed him as a rapist and molester. If he is just going to sneak up and murder every one who gives his clients problems then I don’t want to watch the show.

As if he wouldn’t be all over surveillance video entering this hotel and going to that guys floor? It’s NYC, is he supposed to have established inside dirt over police officials to get him out of trouble the way he does in L.A.?

I thought the same thing. He’d be caught in a day.

Hope the wrestling Mexican is gone. She added nothing to the show.

Could stand to see a little more of the blonde cancer doc. She has a nice body of work.

Ive only watched the first 3 seasons. you guys don't make me too eager to finish it out. I hate when shows constantly use flashbacks to fill plot holes.

And I'm certain there are no surveillance cameras anywhere in LA in Donovan's universe.

Agreed but there is the element in LA that he has the town on lock which allows him to act with a level of impunity. But to go to NYC where he has no such pull and commit a brazen murder is somewhat of a different matter.

True (it hurts to validate anything this season) but this was a quid pro quo with Winslow, who specifically wanted him dead. Ray was desperate to not lose Bridgette, so he obliged and did the hit that Avi probably would've if he was still around.

surveillance video

The hit was staged to look like a suicide, so I guess the writers are implying the ruse worked. It might also be a hanging storyline - with Ray & the crying actress leaving the room having a face to face moment.
