EXCLUSIVE: Already busy prepping to direct the film he just set up at Sony Pictures, Quentin Tarantino is also planning to boldly go where he has not gone before. Sources said that Tarantino has come up with a great idea for a Star Trek movie at Paramount. After sharing his idea with JJ Abrams (who himself is busy prepping Star Wars Episode IX), I’ve heard the plan is to assemble a writers room of scribes who’ll hear Tarantino’s take and begin to put together a movie. If it all works out, Tarantino might direct it, with Abrams producing.

Now that would be interesting

Since traditional Sci-Fi has gone totally Chow Yun Fat...Why not?

But are the Borg gonna be giving foot massages?

Will Khan be enjoying a tasty burger?

Will Spock be allowed to retort?

I remember him also wanting to do a Bond flick. That never happened - thank goodness..

I’ve been wanting to see QT step out a bit and do a SciFi film for years.

I wish he was doing his own thing and not Star Trek.

Tarantino and Trek seem like two things that should never mix. Tarantino and star wars could be fun though with the right subject matter.

If so it would be the first time I could use the words “excited” and “Star Trek” in the same sentence.

Quentin Tarantino, and Star Trek

Now there are two names that should never be in the same discussion

Roddenberry is turning over in his grave as we speak.

Completely disagree. Trek is way way more up his alley than SW.

How? Star Trek is all about restraint, honor, and typically more dialogue than action driven. It’s all about making tough moral decisions with lives on the line. Star Wars is nearly all about action. The action develops the characters, not the other way around. Tarantino crafts great characters, but he breads his butter with great action. I could see Tarantino directing a flic based around KOTOR or Obi Wan. I can’t see him confined to the captain’s chair.

Tarantino would be better for the "classic pulp" sci fi... let him do John Carter with the tone it was meant to be done.

The Warlord of Mars was never meant to be Disney.

Tarantino's films are driven by tons of great dialogue....

Terrible idea.

I don't want to see long shots of alien feet and Kirk talking for 15 minutes straight.

Kirk: I've killed a hell of a lot of people to get to this point, but I have only one more. I am gonna kill Kahn!

Star Trek has a history of risk-taking. I say, go for it.

A sci-fi combination of Kill Bill and Django Unchained?

An Orion slave girl travels the galaxy seeking revenge on those that have enslaved and done "things" to her?
