It will never match the original, but I am up for some giant robots fighting giant monsters.

I caught the first one, finally, on a plane to Vegas last week. I really enjoyed it. I could do without Boyega's personal politics, but I suppose I can live with it in the interim with giant robots and even bigger monsters.

I don't expect it to be a great as the first one (best giant monster movie in recent history), but I'm hoping it will at least be fun.

Loved the first one. This one looks just louder and with less story. The first one was great due to some of the characters and the actors like Idris Elba, Ron Perlman, etc. this one is just a young cast and what looks like smaller Jaegers. My boys want to see it so I’ll be there but with very low expectations.
