Vice should win, but what an overall terrible year in film.

Black Panther for Best Picture can be submitted without comment, it speaks for itself.

I'll just be watching to hopefully see Tim Blake Nelson sing When a Cowboy Trades His Spurs for Wings live.

Green Book, Roma, and Star is Born are the only three that really even deserve a nomination for best picture. Crazy down year.

Predictable. Crazy world we live in. 10. Years ago the Academy would lol at a movie like black panther being nominated.

ETA: So no nominations for directing or acting. Its obvious they just threw the best picture nom in there to shut people up.

I hope I haven't missed my window to get my screenplay of a movie titled, black something-or-other picked up. Clearly, I'm not the only one who was onto the formula needed to win an Oscar.

This is anyone's race.

Bradley Cooper and Peter Farrelly were both snubbed in the category of Best Director, which doesn't bode well for their films winning Best Picture (A Star is Born and The Green Book respectively). Roma then should by default become the frontrunner but no film in the history of the Oscars has ever won Best Picture without also being nominated for Film Editing (something Roma is not nominated for). This is definitely going to be a very entertaining and interesting Oscar ceremony if you're into that sort of stuff.

What a sad year for movies, and I'm normally the guy telling people to stop saying "this year in movies sucks."

You do know Lord of the Rings Return of the King won best picture over 15 years ago right?

Hell, Avatar was nominated for Best Picture 10 years ago

Remove Adam McKay and put in Bradley Cooper for Best Director and it is a respectable list.

Lost in Translation probably actually deserved it, but The Lord of the Rings is one of the greatest and most ambitious film projects of all time. At least go with Crash or Argo if you want a recent one.
