Bad casting of the third sister. They needed more of a warrior type person for that role. Bad casting of Leia. This actress does not appear to be the correct age or have the right physicality for the things they are asking her to do. Bad directing, especially the chase sequences. Bad writing in general And the feel of the whole series is just too campy. It just doesn’t have the weight that the Mandalorian did. It feels more like Boba Fett than the Mandalorian which is disappointing. I will watch it but I am underwhelmed thus far.

yea. anakin was a year younger than leia in episode 1 and won a pod race after being sabotaged against adult alien life forms. he also stole a ship and saved padme and crew from droids and blew up a battleship.
I mean, he stumbled into saving them, basically a complete accident, and they acknowledged it. They didn’t make him this sophisticated warfare strategist.

yea leia chase was pretty awful with the kidnappers being thwarted by a tree branch and such, it couldve been done better, but it was just like 30 seconds. not a major problem, but couldve easily been foregone.
If that’s all there is to it, then yea, definitely forgettable, but I’m worried they’re gonna continue to put Leia on the same level as Obi Wan, because we know Leia eventually develops into this strong character so they don’t want it to be perceived that Obi Wan is superior to her.
Anyone with a brain could know that saying grown adult Jedi master Obi Wan being superior to 10 year old Leia isn’t a slight, but I feel like they’ll be worried about it being seen that way so we’re gonna have to suffer more of this nonsense.

So crazy how peoples opinions are so different.
My wife and I loved the first two episodes. Thought they were great.

Its supposed to be about obiwan and Luke
Not some random villain chick and Leia

I mean the kidnapping chase was worse than the Daiyu, it was pretty terrible like i think she bumped into one of them even lmao. but on daiyu at least there obi was trying to avoid getting caught and not scare leia too carrying her kicking and screaming, he wanted it more voluntary. and he was having to fight bounty hunters along the way. but I agree if they keep having 2 leia chases per episode it will be a problem.

See, Elon Musk should focus on purchasing shite people actually enjoy, and righting the wrongs.
If he spent $5B or so and got the star wars franchise, hired competent people that didn't focus on what 0.9% of the population and fans worry about, maybe young minds would be inspired to get to Mars.

I agree with this.
My daughter played multiple sports at 9 and could outrun most 9yr old boys. Is it that hard to find a young actress that is sort of athletic.
Not saying she should outrun the keystone cops kidnappers, but at least look like you are capable of running properly.

I mean young Leia looks like she just learned how to walk and she's outrunning these incompetent people lol
The chick that walked into the small branch then fell over a twig and then couldn't get Leia because of a small tree in the way was pure comedy in the worst way.
Like someone else said, this series is titled OBI WAN. It should be about him and Vader. If it's based around Leia and the horrible 3rd Sister then i'm officially giving up on Star Wars after it burning us so many times.

The 3rd sister is so forced and unnecessary it hurts.
She should be getting her mask soon. I mean isnt that how Disney assigns the villain these days

I have not read all 12 pages yet but the big disappointment for me is in E2 the way they make lil' princess out to be such a petulant little brat.
I get it, her adult character is quick witted and can hold her own against any scoundrel, etc. So they want to reflect that in her childhood, but they go overboard and take it too far and make her into an unlikeable little brat. It makes me not even want to watch anymore but I know I will. But I don't know for how long I'll be able to cling to it.

I would still say that Obi-Wan is the main character of the show.
I mean, Episode 1 of the show was practically everything I wanted out of an Obi-Wan series and more. Just give more of Obi-Wan day-to-day life on Tatooine and his dealing with Order 66 PTSD, but at the same time, I realize I'm probably in the minority
He needs a reason to get back in the game so to speak, and they used the kidnapping of Young Leia as the reason.
We'll see how much Darth Vader is involved in subsequent episodes, but it does make sense to me at least why he is thus far more of a secondary antagonist.

They dissolved the Senate when they completed construction on the Death Star. Pretty easy to assume folks will stay in line if you threaten to blow up their planet.
In hindsight, other dude probably had it right. Why spend all that money building 1 battle station (albeit a massive one), when you could have spent that money on like a million Star Destroyers.

I should never watch Star Wars and feel like I wanna punch Princess Leia.

That's one of a multitude of things I dislike about Disney Star Wars.
They have tried so hard to retroactively turn Leia into the hero of the franchise, and she was never meant to be.
Rumor has it that Leia would have been the hero of a George Lucas sequel trilogy that would have been made after RotJ, and I could have bought that. Going from OT Leia to 60 year old Carrie Fisher (who looks 80 and sounds like she smokes 20 packs of cigarettes a day) just wasn't it.

Yeah, but the girl from Game of Thrones could back it up and was actually a leader. Little Leia can't and isn't.

Nowhere have we seen the force make kids impossibly wise. It felt like because Obi Wan is the wise master and because eventually Leia becomes this smart, strategic princess that they’re going to steer into it early and almost put them on even ground, and it felt impossibly unbelievable. To hear some 10 year-old lecture a Jedi master? Lol. That’s different than a kid with extreme reactions and the force winning a pod race (and even that and that movie is something we all laughed at).
Ok we covered her dad. Do you remember her mom’s story? Padme was the youngest ever ELECTED queen of an entire planet at 14 years old.
I think it’s safe to assume she outsmarted a lot of smart adults (including Obi Wan and Qui Gon) along the way.
