It’s not just one ride, it’s an entire section of the park and it’s a busy part of the park. The only part of the parks that were busier when I went was Smuggler’s Run.

Being fun to ride on doesn’t mean it’s a great franchise. Seriously how many 9 year olds (none of which were alive during its release) are huge fans of James Cameron’s Avatar? Unlike older people here, most kids their age will mistake Cameron’s Avatar with the cartoon just by mentioning the word Avatar.

Princess Mononoke was released, which I think that’s the movie he primarily ripped off

Interesting - I always thought Avatar was just a sci-fi/space version of Pocahontas. I haven’t seen Princess Mononoke but my kids have - and they’ve seen Avatar - so I’ll have to ask them what they think

I also think Cameron must’ve been sucking lasseter’s dick to get that part of the theme park - I understand that a lot of adults go to Disney - but I still think if it as primarily a kids’ place - what kid wants to go to an Avatar land? I’m an adult that doesn’t want to go to that

I hate avatar, but you are seriously missing out if you go and skip the avatar rides

She wrote a guy who cross dress to kill people. She cancelled for transphobia. Everyone know crime can never be committed by people who cross dress as a disguise!

Everyone also knows that writers have used a cross dressing a quick, cheap way to make characters seem more devious and evil for decades.

I'm sure you have a point here.

I think a TV show could be pretty epic if done right

Can't tell whether you're aware that you provided an example to support my statement or not.

My kids love Avatar land, but we all can barely get through the movie. It's a really well-themed section of Animal Kingdom and awesome to walk through. Pandora is an awesome ride, but it made me a little claustrophobic before it got started when we went last month. I had never had that problem before. I'm not sure what changed. The boat ride is pretty cool too.

Devious: Adjective 1. Showing a skillful use of underhanded tactics to achieve goals.

If that ain’t the picture, I don’t know what is.

I’m not saying I wouldn’t ride the Avatar stuff (with the prices of tickets - we usually ride everything)

It’s just not a drawing card for me or my family - Star Wars stuff is, toy story stuff, cars stuff (which I know is in California)

That was my point - if you book a trip to Disney you don’t tell the kids ‘oh we are going to the Avatar section and ride rides with Neytiri and Jake!’

No - no kid is going to get excited about that - but it’s not to say the rides are good - which will in turn make them excited for the movie and the up coming sequels

The original series is pretty much flawless, and still holds up very well. I think it's going to be a very long time, if ever.

I really think people are underestimating where they’re going to be taking television this decade. Theaters could largely be on the way out due to Covid, and series are overtly being made now with big screen budgets. HBO/Warner have the rights to Harry Potter, so I think there’s no way in hell they’re going to be sitting on that property and let Amazon, Netflix, and Disney overtake them. There’s lots of rumored closed doored meetings over at HBO that they may be doing this.
