NOS4A2 - is this some kind of pedo grooming metaphor?

It's creepy as shite, and not in the way I think it's intended to be. It stars that way-too-intense Quinto guy, who I really wouldn't be surprised to find out is a pedo. It comes on after FTWD. Some new kid gets recruited every week. As a "vampire."
Anybody watching this?

The book is excellent. Was excited about the series and then saw where the showrunners were gonna take some "liberties" Have never gave it a chance and from the reviews I ain't missing a damn thing.

Nosferatu is the original word for Vampire.

Quinto's acting is almost at Shatner levels. I've watched it basically because there isn't anything else on after FTWD. It's not terrible, but the pacing seems off and it just doesn't hold my interest.
Plus, it's kinda pedo-y.

Is this a compliment or an insult?

Now there's a show that fell off a cliff....

The books were the same way. The story starts off strong, picks up steam, then goes to shite real fast. I have never gone from liking a story or show so much to hating its guts as fast as with The Strain.

Wasn’t a book reader for this, but from the previews, I don’t think I’ve ever been as excited for any show ever. Got through season 1, even though I thought it was shite from the beginning.
Straight up gave up at the beginning of season 2, which I rarely do on shows, when it was much of the same. Most disappointed I’ve ever been in a show.
NOS4A2 has really gone downhill. After the first episode, I was in. Thought it was really good.
By the end of the second episode, the show fell apart and hasn’t recovered yet. It looks like one of those cheap, poorly produced shows you would see on Syfy.
Am I supposed to be rooting for the main girl? She has turned down many chances to help people, knowing she was the only person who could save kids.
First chance she got, she turned on her lifelong friend, who clearly has feelings for her, for some rich kids who pretty much see her as poor white trash.
The medium chick is a horrible actress. I think the mom is supposed to be a sympathetic character, but is so horribly written that she really isn’t at all.
Some of the scenes I think are in slow motion, but it just looks like I’m watching on a computer with a bad connection.
It probably doesn’t help that it’s following the terrible FTWD. Talk about a show that’s a mess.
