Netflix is snatching up some of the biggest names in the comedy world. Add Norm Macdonald to the list.
Macdonald has signed up for 10 episodes of “Norm Macdonald Has a Show,” which the comedian referenced on Twitter early Friday.

The news may not come as a shock to fans, especially after the comedian revealed Netflix’s interest in a Reddit AMA back in January. But along with Friday’s news comes some additional official details. Co-host of the “Norm Macdonald Live” Adam Eget will also be joining this new Netflix venture, which will maintain some of the current show’s format: a famous guest and an informal chat. “Norm Macdonald Has a Show” will add the occasional outside-the-studio glimpse at “Norm’s world.”

Norm’s a fricking legend. The only reason Norm isn’t currently hosting the Late Show is he has given pretty much every executive he’s ever worked for the finger. He may be the most beloved living comedian by other comedians.
EDIT: Letterman is more beloved than he is, but that’s the only one coming to mind.

I wish they let him do the sports show too. That was fantastic and CC didn't even let him get to football season.

CC would rather 8 liberal talk shows in a row all finding different ways to bash Trump

I started Comedians in Cars Getting Coffee a few days ago and the one with Norm is easily the best. I was laughing the whole time.
The joke about the gambler had me rolling.

His new-ish standup on Netflix is hilarious.

I love Norm, and he's my favorite comedian. But, would he be up to the grind of an hour-long and nightly talk show like the Late Show or Tonight Show? I could maybe see one in the style of the old Tom Snyder show of the late 70's, early 80's.

His podcast with Adam Eget as his sidekick is awesome.
He's a great interviewer with a vast knowledge of the history of comedy and of history itself. His dry, methodical, slow-playing humor is not something you see much these days and should be more highly revered.
The man is a damn comic genius.

The reason? You guessed it, Frank Stallone.

Yes. I think he would rise to that challenge. He was Letterman's choice for his successor, and you can see in the 90s that he was grooming Norm as his replacement. The problem is Norm has absolutely no respect for authority and has pissed off every executive in Hollywood. The only reason Norm continues to get gigs is his links in the stand-up community. They weren't going to give the unpredictable Norm the gig over a company man like Stephen Colbert.

"In a sworn deposition this week, O.J. Simpson claimed that he never beat, choked, or hit his ex-wife with a closed or open fist. Luckily for O.J., lawyers forgot to ask if he had ever cut her head off."

9/11 WAS a national tragedy though.

Everyone but Cocomolsu thinks this will be awesome.

Who, Egret? He was jerking off punks under the Queensboro bridge for $15 a man. Then he would punch them in the face and steal their wallet. He knocked them out cold too; after which he would steal their identities, have sex with their wives and run up thousands of dollars in credit card debt...I mean this guy was a real jerk!

Also apparently Letterman is the producer of this show, further dictating he wants Norm as his actual successor.

Norm is awesome, I was bored one day and watching anything I could find of him on Youtube and Netflix. Also, found his series The Norm Show and it was pretty good.

"And there's Charles Woodson, how 'bout that, what a season he had. Great, man, he became the first defensive player to win the Heisman Trophy. Congratulations, Charles. That is something that no one can ever take away from you. Unless you kill your wife and a waiter, in which case, all bets are off."
