Yep. My money is on it being woke garbage and Disney knows it would flop bigly if sent to theaters. Rumor is the Predator will be female.

aliens.....no...hell no. Aliens is awesome, but alien is a genre definer and a near perfect movie.

The human Commanche warrior will be female (of course that makes no sense as Commanche women were not warriors but rather took care of the cooking etc. but this is a fantasy movie after all). I will laugh my arse off if there is a female Predator. Did they give her some nasty tits in the movie that featured a female predator?

Not necessarily. We have seen some fairly solid original movies from streaming services for a while now especially in the mid budget action genre. This is a mid budget, I assume R rated sci fi from a franchise on life support. It probably would've not have been that successful in the theater regardless of quality. It makes sense from Disney's prospective to make this a HULU original.

Amber Midthunder is hot as hell and I enjoyed her in Legion but peak Native American era vs a Predator makes no goddamn sense unless the species sent their absolute dumbest and youngest to earth. Like an inbred redneck Predator that plays the banjo.

There were native american women warriors. Not entirely sure about the Comanche tribe but I ve read that some Comanche women did fight. One thing is for sure...they were brutal as shite and were as bad as the men when it came to torturing and killing prisoners. The horrific shite they did to captured settlers and especially children has me rooting for the predator already.

Didn’t bother with the 2018 one

The Predator was one of the most baffling bad movies I've ever seen. The cast was solid, Shane Black was writing and directing, it had a 90 million budget....and it was absolute total dogshit.

Predator 2 and predators were enjoyable

I always loved Predator 2, but that being said, it's not very "good."

Paxton is at his Paxton-est, and Busey is at his insane Busey-est as well. I appreciate Danny Glover's efforts, but he was a little too old for that shite IMO. His gun was awesome though.

Like I said, I always liked that movie. But Predator works and comes across best in a jungle. In a big city, not so much.

Yeah, the only thing I enjoyed was seeing the Predator tech with with the most up to date effects. Plus, seeing him use his mandibles to bite that doctor was pretty cool.

You know "that guy" who rolls his eyes with the announcement of every new superhero movie?

I think at this point I'm that guy for new Predator and Alien movies.

Yeah, Terminator too. Each franchise had an early peak where they were spectacular. Now it just seems like they're putting the cardio paddles to a corpse.

It's particularly egregious for Terminator. At least with Alien and Predator, even if the sequels and prequels were poorly executed, they didn't attempt to rewrite the original movies in order to make the plot happen.

Terminator is different, because with the exception of Salvation (which was an interesting idea and could have worked if it had been released maybe 10 years earlier). The other 3 wretched abortions require you to first know and then completely ignore the conclusion of the first 2 movies.

Cameron once said that he didn't want to be a part of the sequels because he thought he had wrapped up the story and said everything he needed to say in Judgment Day. And he was absolutely right. But then he goes and gets himself an EP credit on Dark Fate.

I first turned on the teaser thinking cool I’m ready to be hurt again, didn’t know a new predator was coming to theaters.

Then the only on Hulu hit……

See, this is correct. Thing is, not EVERY great movie or idea needs to be strung out into a franchise. Three biggest culprits were Alien, Terminator and Predator. Between them, there should have been 6 movies total. Beyond that, they were just mining the IP for dollars with no actual story involved.

Two movies each was plenty. After that, go write a new story. Just think, if studios were rehashing old stories back then like they are now, we'd have likely never even gotten these three to begin with and we'd have been worse off for it, because they'd have been "reimagining" Attack of the 50 Foot Woman, Forbidden Planet, the Day the Earth Stood Still, etc.

I think everyone is.

I am happy they are still trying though. Hopefully they can get something right

Agree. The first one is really the only good one, like The Matrix.
